Well not too sure what response this sort of thing will get on here but ive been drifting in jap turbos for 18 months now and always owned fast jap cars (currently manual soarer thats for sale ;))

however i have caught the bug for V8 and recently purchased an e30 with m60b40 lump and 6sp box..

its matt black and looks shit imo but is solid underneath and the conversion has been done so bonus..

i plan to make it my own and hopefully use it for comp next season.

my mate is building an e92 race spec for the ring and hes going to be helping out alot..

to do list and work in progress
- fit new bespoke exhaust system with modest twin tail pipes
- M3 Evo kit (minus tailgate) with frp bonnet and boot
- evo/dtm style spoiler
- got a powdercoated rear subframe with camber/toe plates fitted and poly bushes throughout never fitted
- 5x100 conversion spacers 20mm - on order
- 9.75x17 xxr 527 et25 on order - reason im fitting m3 kit to cater for wider wheels
- wisefab kit if money allows
- already has an m3 evo rack and 8mm rack spacer
- bc coilovers with custom rated springs 10kg
- respray alpine white inc wheels

interior will have
- hydraulic handbrake
- stripped out with buckets
- cage will come eventually

i plan to have the majority of the list completed by october mid-end for the UK odc final.

i wont post any pics yet as it looks pretty crap but regular updates wil start very soon when pics will be added.

oh and im new here ;)

Resprayed Matt black
Made some chequered flooring
Tinted rear lights red
Made template for all box section to cover brake servo in passenger footwell
Seats removed and general wire tidy up

I should hate it, but there is a purpose with it and I've become a fan of a functional car over minter that can't stand a raindrop.

I like it, though I wouldn't bother with the all the M3 stuff, just get some universal wheelarch extensions like on say a old mini, and give them some mattblack paint, on with some orange wheels, I'd use steel rims, don't know the wheels you have on the to do list, but if 15 inches are enough in diameter then Mattig does almost any width you would like on there SSF wheels:

http://www.mattig.de/content/index.php? ... e&Itemid=1
Why is there not enough time to do it right, but allways enough time to fix the errors - I borrowed that, just so reallistic in my line of work.

Thanks mate

I like my drift cars to look nice aswell as drift good.

Not a fan of the arches your talking about but love the boxy m3 look.

It should look pretty good when complete, I have a mental vision of how I want it too look so watch this space.. ;)

update

so after a crap end to the weekend where we managed to make the half system for the exhaust. we discovered the drivers side bottom of manifold had a big crack... so had to order some new flanges and pipework to get that rectified.. annyoing as we spent so long getting the rest upto scratch...

from the cat back position i just bought a 2nd hand s/s system to use for temp and will make a better one up in near future as its 1.75" so a bit restrictive

however the soarer went on sunday which allowed me to order up some bits;
-frp bonnet
- frp boot lid
- random bits and pieces...

alot of it arrived this week inc wheels, spacers and coilovers

hopefully should be fitted by weekend, then i have to collect the m3 front and rear bumpers and order the arches etc

9.75x17 et25 +20mm spacer - going in for paint tommorow and will be white :D

really impressed with the coilovers, i used bc on the soarer and from extensive research have found nothing but positive's for them on an e30

10kg rates all round and front arb removed
Image

waiting on some gibson rack spacers then will fit some new tie rods/ends

Update

Decent progress yesterday

Got the bottom of manifold welded up nicely by my mate (whos helping build car) tested it and it doesn't blow from there now. Ordered a load more pipe work in 2.5" so I can bin the restrictive system I bought off eBay

Ecentric bushes fitted for better caster

You can just see the welds on mani
