Haha, cheers Rav. I'm swaying towards keeping standard as i dont see many Design left so could be worth keeping like that.

I have just seen this thread . WOW ! 10/10 for perserverance -1 /10 for financial prudence ! 8O :o

Do the car as YOU want it, it's had 14 owners (the last few undoubtably council types / bruvs ) and it is recorded , so forget about investment potential/ rarity value.

By the look of it , you are doing it properly so it should make a nice car , so build it as you want it and enjoy it.

By the way, I would go with the motorsport leather. That design trim is scrap, the vinyl bolsters are not original and a typical tight wad council move , never mind the trashed centres of which the cloth is NLA :(

LLoyd instead of the Tech II kit why not go for something different?

EKO has a nice Breyton Front valence for sale at a good price. A Breyton Rear can be picked up for around the same.

IMO would look v nice on the CAB??

First of all, like many responses..; What a cracking bit of work, hats off to you for taking this one on. Always good to see through the hard work ahead and keeping another E30 on the road.

Also....

I told him the other option and he said replacing the panel would be alot easier and save alot of prep time. So i need to cut the quarter off the red one and give it to Kevin (my mate) and let him pic it and weld on. But before he does, he needs to put a new arch on which i will get from Hadrian Panels. Will try and do some of this before i go away.
How do non OEM panels shape up? I need to get both front wings and possibly (to do it right) a new rear panel. I'm half temped to treat myself to brand new wings but was never sure of non BMW panels (not to mention more of the car not being genuine)... That is that I'm assuming Hadrian Panels aren't OEM..

Looking forward to seeing more progression..

I'm not too sure on the none OEM panels but most people are using the Hadrian panels for the rear arches but i was told by BeardyMat to use genuine panels. Suppose its down to personal preference.

Okay, cheers for getting back to me. I'd always prefer to get OEM.. hmm I'll carry on thinking... I looked the parts up, there's a huge difference between the cost, but I suppose thats my answer.. most things, you get what you pay for....

Yeah, I always was going to go for OEM parts... But just had second thoughts, after reading through your thread.. great work by the way, hows it coming along?

Thanks for your thoughts, I reckon I'll save some pennies and do it the proper way...

Hey guys, sorry for the slow progress on this. Since the car has been finished by BeardyMat over 18 months ago it was stored in my mates garage. Since then i have taken on one too many projects and the roof collapsed in the garage which meant the car wasnt weather tight. It gathered some water, leaves and some asbestos roofing panels and in the process the ECU got dipped into the water. So on taking the car out of the garage, the brakes were slightly seized and it wouldnt start so im thinking that because the ECU has got wet that it wont start.

Managed to get it back to my mates garage so it can finally get the respray it needs. Here it is in its current state:

I've got the rest of the panels at my house which i got off MurphyE30 ages ago. Just need to get the interior sorted and find a decent roof!!

Cheers, cant wait to get it finished!!

Well, after almost a year sitting in the garden and various places i have finally got the car to the bodyshop. I bought 2 new wings for it a couple of months ago as i thought it would be a waste doing all that work and having some okay wings. It will take the best part of 2 weeks so hopefully get it ready for mid June so i can sell it on. Here are some pics:

Yeah i know, it would be a shame. Will have to get it ready for next summer.

With everything going on, the cab has been at the body shop for the best part of 6 months and was hoping that the car would take a little longer to finish but they needed the space and got it back last week, here are some pics of it before it was sprayed:

And here she is all painted up:

It'll be left till the new year as i need to get some money sorted and sell some of the other projects. The bodyshop need to paint all the bumpers and other little bits of trim.
