Hello.

I deccided after owning a few fun drift cars... then getting an old man mercedes 420 sec.. that i needed another drift car again!!!

It's a BMW e30 316 with the 2.5 straight 6 m20 lump dropped in.

Its got a pretty good spec to it, and as drift cars go.. its pretty much done. diffs sorted, its got a bit've extra grunt... cage, hydro..14" banded steelies lol!

~It had a few issues... a crack in the sump being one... drove it 300miles home and it didnt miss a beat so pretty pleased and sump is now sorted... Its a suprisingly solid little car... no real issues with body work or rust. one small bit in the boot but thats now sorted!

My mate drove me from Essex to Bideford, north Devon ( what a lad!).. 580 mile round trip for him in a clio 182...

Anyway.. pics!

filling up for a long ass trip home!

Clock says 6.20 (was an hour out) ... at this point.. just another5 1/2 hours to go then :/

Image

the 'small' oil leak.. this was over night :/ I got in at 12 and left for work @ 5am... (now dealt with thank fuck!)

Image

and pics as it stands / stood outside my work ealier + a couple stolen from the ebay add. had a little play with it once or twice.. not bad at all. last drift car i had was a 180sx.. this is a different kettle o fish but just as much fun!!!

Lol :p

It used to belong to Paul at a drifty garage down that way ( Devon).. cant remeber the name but its quite well known... .. just googled it.. think its JDMGarage?

I may be fitting some slightly larger tyres though.. the sump sits just under 1" from the deck... the splitter is lower. the tyres are 225/40r14!!!! never knew they did that profile!

Anyway, no real plans for it. another bucket seat would be nice.. new things here and there but barely worth writing about.. just going to skid the bloody thing!

Cheers!

Fair enough it's a drift car and you can get away with some crazy mods but that sun strip is stupidly mahoozive

Nice car though

Car looks a serious bit of kit, the spoiler is off a tech 1 sport - worth at least £100 if in good nick! :thumb:

Nothing stupidly massive about it at all? It's a motorsport sun strip.

When you don't have a sun visor and you are going flat out round a corner, the last thing you want is to be blinded. Picture from BTCC:

the sun strips fine lol.. im sat on the floor anyway and can only just see over the wheel.. and im 6`3"! it does the job. otherwise i would need HUGE sun visors.

ah, good to hear about the spoiler. i really like it. cheers for the comment... yep its a cool car. needs some tlc but the previous owner certainly went to town on it!

lol, the e30's being compared to the btcc cars... damn right!

chers guys! :D

tiny update.

took it to norfolk drifting.

WHAT A DAY.

certainly took a bit've getting used to ... im use to my 180sx and s14.. which pratically drifted themselves compared to this thing lol. had it mastered a few sessions in and went to town on the fun factor. i have honestly never had more fun at a skid day.. its so much hard work to drift compared to my old cars but MILES more rewarding and fun..

oh. and it rained.. alot.. allday.. and i got muddy!

PPPICCCCSSSSS!

rain

Image

...got there ok..bar a few mishaps with friends cars ( another story!) .. the track was, however, a tad muddy.

SO! i day of dirt dropping the e30 made it looks like this!

Image

clear drivers and passenger window... 'cos they were down all day.. all that muds splattered everywhere inside! What fun that was to clean off (.. thats a lie.. i gave our local Polish car was a score to do everything.. blokes are heros in my books lol)

THAT'S MY OLD CAR!!!! :D :D :D

I was wondering what happened to it - sold it to fund my travels to NZ. Looks like you've been having a lot of fun in it :P

It was me and RandomDave (mostly dave lol) who stuck the m20 in... pics are tucked away somewhere on the zone.

Happy motoring :D
