Pm received and replied adit, cant wait to get to enjoy the weather properly, you know if i get the springs and headrests done i think the final thing to truly complete this car would be a m50/52 lump in it and get it looking o.e.m in the engine bay as possible but thats a long way away yet as the m20 is still kicking ass!!

Hi Ali50......
Thats one of the best looking cars on this site in my opinion.
Tech1 convertibles really are the best looking Convertibles IMO, and with the brightwork they look even better!
I used to have an Alpine white one with all the factory brightwork and blue hood, and i remember how long it took me to find propper Tech1 Convertible side skirts!!!
I currently have a Tech 1 kitted Motorsport Convertible but the skirts are from a non convertible car (see pic below) it looks ok, and will look better still when the black sill trim is colour coded.

I also have a friend with a Factory fitted Tech1 Convertible with chrome (but its lowered 80mm, which is way to much)

Hey richard thanks for the comments yh man they definitely look better then tech 2 bit more original and classy. Yours is nice man do you have a pic thread? yh i got skirts that are trimmed i beleive they are from a touring or four door so as u step from a distance u can see the lower part of the sill but its possible i may have some proper cabby skirts coming but time will tell. . . . . .Thanks for the comments also tell your mate with the 3 spokes put different style rims on it despite having a 80mm drop it still looks cool like a low rider! ! ! btw theres too many o.e.m homos n purists on here n as for that i dont post alot.

I can appreciate an immaculate completely standard car, but seriously how could anyone say a 320i Convertible on 14" bottle tops is nicer looking than your car. I think modified cars are great, if done with restraint, just as i think OEM works best only when a car is totaly immaculate.
My Motorsport would not have come with the tech1 kit, but the Tech1 kit is a period and genuine part, and whilst i dont like the wheels that are on it, I wont be putting OE 15"s on after consideration, i'll put 16" BSX's on as they have an OE 'theme' but make the car just a little more striking.
As for my friends Malachite car, well he is a bit of a 'showman' in the land of Car Audio (which isnt anything that gets me going) and the wheels are on it to be talked about (which works, i guess)..... They have been on the car for 15 years now!
I will be starting a project based pic thread with the Motorsport as there are lots of things i want to do and catalogue with pictures, such as:
Renovo and re-proof the hood.
Do the adjustments needed to address a tappety engine.
Re-satin the de-chromed trim (I did think about going chrome, but now unsure).
Change the wheels.
Do a smart repair on one of the leather seat bolsters.
General removal and detailing of various trims and other small things.
Personaly i'd quite to see and hear more about your car, so dont let the purests put you off sharing!

Richard 300 i share your views o.e.m to the the glutimus maximus is cool but as i av in my pic o.e.m with a twist thats what i like keep it factory kit, interior etc and add afew aftermarket things that give it a personal touch and individuality try and make it say thats my car. I think the bsx on your car will look good i jus realised that you trims were in body colour they actually look good, soon im gettin all the trim on mine done in gloss black as they have slight fading in places. Will be ready late march time im hoping ready for the topdown cruising!

na man its 60mm shocks and springs all over on 17s (here come the o.e.m homos, they just leaving the blue oyster bar from police academy) i got 40mm rear springs and shocks but the shocks were dead so never fitted em was gonna go 40 rear and 60 front, but because i had 60mm shocks on the rear with 60 mm springs i wasnt sure to remove the 60mm springs and fit the 40mm springs with 60mm shock so i never did but i still have them, so 60mm all over with shocks and springs. looking to sell/swap this car its in for sale section at the mo....
