well, ive had many stupid ideas and this one has finally taken shape lol.

I'll just post a few pics, and if i get much interest ill copy the slightly longer thread ive got.

It started out as a 1.3GL 1985 nova lol with 12 doors.

was stolen few years ago, got it back. was far too good to scrap but 12 doors dont sell so ive gone and done this.

i expect ill get the usual "why its a nova" or something like that. haha ah well.

Never been into Novas but interested to see where this goes. Would be best in the other marques section though.

i like these kind of projects, if you got the skill then use it. rather a nova being butchered than an E30. Nice to see what this ends up like.

its having a C20XE on R1 carbs.

well it got stolen, and i got it back but no-one would want a 5 door matt black stolen/recovered nova. so i though id do something different.

basically just doing it to practice my welding, fillering, and spraying skills. plus its fun haha

dont be silly. its too short for a rwd conversion. 4wd maybe, but the vaux 4wd setup is made of soft french cheese and breaks :(

but since this was bumped ill add a few pics

both rear arches were cut and rebuilt using my old front arches

Image

front wings sprayed in zinc phosphate primer

Image

inner wings hammerited

Image

stainless tubing used to make the tops of the back bit (half welded in now but pics not uploaded yet)

Image

valves polished and lapped back in

Image

cam cover and spark plug covered repainted in OEM colours

Image

pocketed Omega 86.5mm pistons need to buy the 4th one

Image

also have a set of Kent AST1603 rally cams.

cleaned the rods up too using a wire brush in a drill

Fair point, may as well :)

This is a very good idea actually!! Most of the reason I don't have a go on my car is that I'm worried I'll f**k it up completely!! But on some old scrap like this, who cares :D

I had a Nova that I was rebuilding but got bored and sold it all. (Made a profit too) And went back to my BMW.

I'm also building a Corsa Redtop for a customer at the minute.

Looks a fun project. :)
