Already seen one being done and then drove it. Silly amounts of work, I've got a good idea on alot of the work if you need any info.
For the amount of work i wasn't that impressed with the outcome performance wise. The m5 v10 is a much better engine. Good luck.

What transmission do you use?

Yea it is true it requires a lot of work but the coolness - factor is quite big also

.. comparison to S85 is not relevant as you can buy 20 V12's for a price of V10..

I will put engine from 750il, will use manual gearbox from 535i, i done already engine mount. will be done complete suspension, mtech 2, maybe role rage, alpina windows, nice deep dish alloy wheels, (maybe bbs split or borbets). full respray and much more. if i will decide maybe even twin turbo or supercharger. :))) this is the body, there the engine is going in.

Stale; the original box bellhousing is really big enough?
Shumacheris wrote:I will put engine from 750il, will use manual gearbox from 535i
How large modifications are needed in order to fit that box there? Are you going to change the whole bellhousing from autobox or just a part or it?

The reason that i'm asking is that i'm in a middle of V12 swap myself and still trying to decide which box to get. 5-speeder from V8 would be "almost bolt on", so fabricating an adapter plate for that could be the easiest option.

I decided to put the box from m30 engine because the box would be much stronger. because, course you could fit from e36 325 or from e30 325 box with adapters, but you know you are putting on v12 engine so i would prefer to put bigger

Yes, but what about the bellhousing? I think the flywheel on V12 is about as big as the getrag 260 bellhousing..

The boxes are about the same, no strength difference, just different ratio`s. And you would use the m20 flywheel. IIRC with the 325 getrag, you can use standard prop if engine mounts are wright.

Maybe you know know, i'm thinking to fit twin turbo or supercharger. just thinking there is two types of superchargers, one is electrical and other one is from belt. that from belt is amazing ££££, so i'm thinking maybe put two electric once, but never get around with them, i dont know if they would give alot more power. that do you think? wich would be better. it is not much space around the engine and to fit twin turbo, would need to do much body modifications, so i'm thinking supercharger.

No such thing as an electric supercharger. Only ones for sale or nearly cheap tat there zaps power from the alternator.

Why don't you start with getting the engine in and running first, then think about other stuff. Its probably the hardest conversion to, are you sure you can do this?

so far i have already fitted gearboxs, and is already on suspention, done the engine mounth. just now waiting for all new sport bushes and will start put everything on the car. because i want to do anticoroz for full undernief. i have already mtech 2 kit. just will sorted out lsd diff because it will go from my other 7 series bmw. i have radiator from tds, generator from e36 and bacicaly all the rest i have, just waiting for polyflexs bushers all around new started brushes and some other small bits. thinking to make stronger rear bar wich holds diff, because it could bent. maybe going to wheeld a bracket or so. just start looking for supercharger, because want to get everything before fit the engine in actual place.

there would be enough room for a blower of some kind, in the area where the air-con pump would normally be.

Thats not true, there are proper electric blowers, however they are big and require a large power source to run them.

V12 looks cool 8)
