hi gunni, after seeing those video links im sooooo glad your comming to map my 2002. looks like the vems does a good job and looks like your the guy to make sure its working well.....
see you soooooooooooooooon

PnP M50 standalone is now SO close . actually about 1ft away from me
Why have I never seen this thread???? Just trawled through all 9 pages!
Want to see this car in the flesh I'm DE24 (Alvaston) postcode mate I'd like to chat with you sometime as am picking up an M50B25 tomorrow night and wouldn't mind some advice? Is that possible?
BTW You sir are a fookin legend! I would have been satisfied with the last effort but I guess in your line of work and seeing that what looks like your living room is full of engine components it was never going to be "build it and job done"
amazing!

How do you pronounce 'either'? I say 'either', but some say 'either'. Either is correct.
I´ve moved from Derby, I live in Oxford now.
Send me a pm if you have questions about anything.

Bloody hell.....
Boost pipe

The whole thing with a 60mm wastegate

Wastegate location, the exit will be a screamer pipe, it clears the rad hose and fan shroud nicely. The pipe will then be wrapped for added heat retention.

I´ll also be buying some heat shielding material to put on the inner arches to keep heat out.
The 2.8 engine will be available for sale as a complete setup in a E36 if any of your mates are into E36´s and want 500hp themselves, The E36 even comes with the deal.

Conical springs with Ti top hats, very motorsport
Back to the pictures.
M20 flywheel lightened to 6kg

The champ of pressure plates

Ready to go in

Everybody needs launch control right?

This is what a straight through exhaust looks like.

Not to low either.

Screamer pipe getting welded up.

It sticks out the exact amount

Oil feed and pressure sensor.

After the first fire up , which went perfectly btw.
Just waiting on a radiator, finishing up the exhaust and then it´s mapping time.

Also here is a pic of a top mount M50 turbo manifold we did for Andeep.

And the selection of switches for this E36.
Far left is antilag (just for fun)
Middle knob is boost control
Far right is launch control over all enable/disable. That switch has to be ON for the Red button to work.

All systems done.
Now needs the final mapping and a prop.

Video of it idling. The bad response is total lack of tuning. The bass is just insane at idle out of the exhaust.

Here is the second car which will be a 2.8 M50 dual intake cam turbo, I was thinking about letting this one do a bit more power then the 2.5 one. Maybe 510-520hp, we will see.

The other car is now mapped to 0.8bar boost which is roughly 400hp or so. Just another 0.3-0.4bar boost left and it´ll be 500hp.

Second car running, It´ll be a riot to drive I think after my little test drive so far.

Gunni, I was always very impressed with your work and have considered using you before, however after reading this on Drift Works I was pretty disappointed.
I don't know all the facts and there are always 2 sides to every story but taken at face value it doesn't look good!

Everybody is free to choose whoever they want to work on their car or fabricate parts and or make whatever oppinions they want about a person or business based on the information at hand.
Key thing being "information at hand". And with that, that´ll be as much as I´m getting into this.
I won´t be sharing my oppinions, thoughts or any information in pm´s or otherwise.
People might think that this might hurt me in any way or what I do. Truth be told I have a darn good day job, my BMW turbo antics are for fun and to help others achieve their BMW turbo fun days as well. I offer free technical professional advice to any who request it regarding anything especially when they are faced with miss-information from un-educated internet forums/local pub/parts retailer or just their friends. I have already supported over 60-70+individuals turbocharge their BMW´s on a global scale and I shall continue to do so and thats just my hobby, I won´t even go into what happens at my day job.
I have been in the E30 game for 15years now. Me and my friend turbocharged his BMW back in 2001, at the same time I completed my S50B30 conversion, which at the time was one of handfull S50 conversions around globally when the internet was empty of these type of information. I still get emails about S50 conversions to this day. I saw the first evern version of www.e30.de
I have made coilover conversions, done M30 swaps, s50 swaps, turbo S50 RHD conversions(the hardest swap in a E30 there is), turbo conversions, stroker conversions, engine builds, wired in more ecu´s then I can remember into bmw´s, toyotas, nissans, mercs, lexus's, peugots, renaults, supras and more. Mapped more aftermarket turbo bmw´s then anybody else in this country and there is more of them coming, much more. I have mapped road cars, drift cars, drag cars, track toys, rally cars, race cars, single seaters, MOD hush hush stuff as well as custom kit cars on petrol, lpg and methanol.
I believe my track record with people speaks for itself.
I´ll have some more pics and info on the two E36 turbos hopefully next weekend.

I don't think anyone is doubting you ability but either way you can understand that this sort of thing damages reputations.

A very very sad state of affairs, not exactly the reputation you lead everyone on to believe.
I hope you have given a full refund to those on DW.
I hope you have given a full refund to those on DW.
I think that Gunni is leading everyone on with this 'reputation' that he thinks he has. I was also tricked by him into putting faith in his work and subsequently I contracted him to build me a manifold.
I have had the same experience as Vinay on Driftworks. After 3 months of waiting (was told would be done in 2 weeks!) I also received a manifold that was a complete joke, full of holes and with warped flanges. The manifold was given back TWICE to Gunni for correction and still came back to me with the exact same problems.
To add insult to injury, my car came back with multiple damages.
I have taken Gunni to small claims court over this matter where I am recovering all costs.
Therefore I would not recommend anyone to ever use Gunni/GSTuning/DI Racing. He might seem good on 'paper', but at the end of the day his work is simply appalling.

I am the unfortunate party who has that monstrosity of a manifold. It was a shocking job and one that Gunni allowed to be sent out to me after he'QA'd' it.
If that's his level of quality then i wonder how many of his previous projects are still alive?
Compare the two manifolds in that thread. Gunni's one is awful and it doesn't fit. It also doesn't take 6 months to build a manifold. The second one was built in three weeks.
My biggest issue has been the lack of care from Gunni. He took my money knowing full well he didnt have a good solution for a RHD manifold, he then went onto design something which is pretty ugly and functionally untested. Not once in the process did Gunni attempt to hurry the build along, he didnt care that i had a car off the road which i was still paying for insurance, tax and MOT. He also didnt once proactively phone me with an update i had to chase every single time.
I then shouldnt be the one who has to waste more time and money to rectify his mistakes. I dont care how good someones reputation is a picture speaks a thousand words. The welding is horrific.
GS Tuning is nothing but a one man operation without a garage base (he works out of DI Racing).
Thankfully my situation isnt as bad as Andeeps and Gunni doesnt owe me £5k but its more the principal.
By alerting others to the smokescreen that is GS Tuning im hoping other people dont lose any more money.
I'll post up from the Driftworks thread should it be needed.

If you havent seen the thread then here you go:-
Right so after waiting since March of this year for my Manifold to be built i've finally had it back. I commission Gunnar Reynisson (Gunni) from GS Tuning to build one for me as he came highly recommended from most of the BMW Forums. To break the story down:-
19th March - Send half the money for the manifold build to start
23rd March - Ask if the build has started and get told it'll start on the weekend
1st April - Chased again, get told nothing yet hopefully some mid week progress
10th April - Chase again, get told the same as above. No progress and will be something mid week
13th April - Chase again, get told there was a delay with the pipes coming in.
24th April - Chase again, get told by Gunni that progress has been slow and he shows me what else he is working on (like i care). I tell him im concerned about the lack of progress. He says he cant control the speed (yes you can you're building it)
At this point i get bored and leave it for a whole month.
28th May after hearing nothing from Gunni i chase again and get the following response:-
Over the weekend I was able to spend some time in the design phase, i.e planning your manifold in terms of ease of making, efficiency of function and fitment. I´m missing a Turbine flange that fits your turbo but hope that should come in real soon. I think my concept for the manifold is going to make it very efficient and simple.
The two I have made are super over the top complicated and I´ll be steering away from that on yours towards an improved version really. I know it´s taking AGES and I must appologize for that but I´ve got a 2 year M50 turbo project on the bring of completion now that I´m focusing on, all of that info goes towards yours as well.
I´m 100% certain your manifold is going to be the best T3 turbo manifold ever fitted to a RHD E36 for about 500hp flywheel.
Turns out no one in this country has this flange and he can only get it from Iceland. 19th of June he's back from Iceland with the flanges.
24th June - I get a Facebook message from Gunni saying contact DI Racing about the manifold. I have no idea who they are or what involvement they have. Turns out Gunni from GSTuning isn't a big company but a retard 1 man band who works full time for Cosworth whilst studying. From March to July he has been 'designing' my manifold rather than building it. He says he will be there whilst the manifold is being made.
I contact Damian at DI Racing who seems a nice enough chap and we talk about the manifold which he says will take around 10 days to complete. A few days pass and i hear nothing, a few more and again nothing. Turns out that Damian doesnt have a welder so relies on another guy to weld for him. This other guy is employed by someone else so can only weld an hour a day. After more blah blah blah's Damian says he is hiring a welder and getting the manifold finished on the weekend of the 19th July.
19th July get the following response from Damian:-
Welder has arrived it's a bit antique but should do the trick. Just finishing of the wastegate pipes. Everyone says yours is the best one i've done so far. Fame and Fortune here i come
He then sends me the following picture:-

I get quite excited for all of three seconds. I realise that this is a top mount manifold which sure as hell wont fit into a RHD E36. Turns out he has confused it with Andeeps manfiold (E30 Turbo build), so i think of he's just sent me the wrong picture no bother.
21st July - I chase Damian he says most of the welding is done and it will be shipped on Monday. Said the TIG Welder was crap but he's using another one tomorrow.
At this point i get super excited i've waited 5 months for this amazing manifold built by the legendary Gunni. The manifold arrived at the garage, i asked them to send me some pics so i can drool over it. So who wants to see this amazing 5 month manifold which is the best ever designed for a RHD E36, its taken 2 years of research and development. The welding is TIG and its fully backpurged:-
WRONG

I almost cried when i saw it, the welding is horrific. I've never welded before but i reckon i could do a better job. Most of the manifold is MIG's, there are areas that arent even welded. Its lumpy and patchy with holes in the actual manifold. No backpurging and not enough heat in the welds.
After calming down from throwing a tanturm i message Gunni and Damian and say WTF have you sent me. Gunni's response is to shift the blame onto Damian and that it doesnt matter if it is TIG or MIG'd in certain areas (which is rubbish).
So thats where we stand at present, no contact from Damian at all and Gunni saying to contact him even though i commission him.
Word of warning do not use Gunni at GSTuning or Damian at DI Racing unless you want the above results.
Pure Performance will be trying to sort out the manifold before putting it all together. We still dont know if the design is good and whether it will deliver on the Dyno.
Anyones thoughts would be welcomed.......

Right guys sorry its taken so long to update this but i've been having too much fun in the GT86.
So after the debacle with the manifold i sent it back to Gunni to be repaired. They fixed the issues, polished it up and pressure tested up to 5 bar including under water. Finished result was this:-

Once back it was fitted but there was an immediate problem. The turbo was hitting the steering rack. I decided to cut my losses rather than send it back to Gunni to identify the issue and repair it again.
The project was taken over by Thomas Zurawski and Martin Richards. I went down to see them and was extremely confident that it would get done right this time.
New Manifold looks a million times better.
Collector:-

This is what proper welding looks like

Problems with the HX35 and not finding a suitable location for it lead to us changing it for a GT3076

Manifold Design and Jig

Welded up

Currently waiting on flanges to come in so it can be finished then its all bolt on parts+ mapping and we're there
