Well i've been promising picks of this Tech 1 Sport i'm breaking for a while now just to show how rotten it really is.

Had quite a lot of interest in this from people want to buy this to restore when i advertised it for breaking, i'm sure after this you'll be glad i said it was good for breaking only.

Also bare in mind this was on the road as recent as December

Pics aren't the best i know but i'm sure you get the idea. CAn't quite see in the pics but there are a lot of repair patches under the fuse back along with the one in the footwells and the door frames have nearly rotted through and the boot lid is rotten out through the seems.. Also the car has had a shocking respray and is covered in micro blisters and a layer of filler.

And finally the roof;

So who would have attempted to restore it then?

Mileage has got nothing do with how much it rusts. You often find cars that standing around like this.

Yep, this is the council approved car that's supporting my car repair empire Dan winkeye

You can just notice the quality speaker install on the rear shelf, quite a tidy job compared to some i've seen.

Still puzzled that the outer arches are still looking good though

Wow. That's impressive! Looks like it would've been better left alone rather than to have been so badly "restored"

I honestly reckon Simon and I can beat this with the titanic like turd we currently have. The roof on this is positively mint compared to the diamond black Tech 1 we have.

I'll get the photos asap but the nearside screen pillar is missing from the wiper arm to a third of the way up. It's blown so far it's pushed the screen out of it's seal with the trim strip still in place.

The roof has blown right around from where this one has to the back corner of the sunroof on the same side. It looks like a mole is between the headlining and the roof skin.

And thats before we remove boot trims and carpets.

Photos soon.

Sounds like there isn't much holding yours together then Trev  . Just goes to show what can happen to a car when its left standing though, being on the road to the bitter end probably helped this one live a little longer.

Makes me happier about my RS Turbo now. That's not pretty underneath but it's not quite as bad as that! By comparison though, my 320 looks brand new. It's got a dodgy rear inner passenger arch and that's the only rot on the whole car :D

On top of what looks like dodgy repairs, are a lot of the problems caused by the fact that the body kit allows moisture and dirt to be trapped there, even on dry days it never really dries out?

I've fancied a Tech I for a while but getting put off more each time I see one that's been stripped for a light resto  Can you actually check for these sort of issues when viewing one for sale??

The bodykits do make the Sports more prone to rusting because they act as moisture traps. However all E30's suffer with the brown stuff really.

As for checking the area's when buying, you need to get the boot lining out and the rear door cards out as a bare minimum to give you a good view of the rear arches and sills. If the seller isn't happy about you doing this then walk away.
