thanks for all the comments guys. im really enjoying this build and only wish i'd done it sooner.
little update.. my 2.8 crank turned up today
now i can order a few new bits for the engine ready for the swap.

update time... started work on the n/s rear quarter yesterday. first up was to get the plates in place for the skin.


next up was the angles and support bars. these will help hold it all in place when they are removed so i can cut away the original quarters.

sheet metal on now. after abit of welding and grinding the n/s is done. after taking quite a few measurements from each side theres about 2-3mm difference in places. i think i can live with that

after having a quick fag and a bite to eat i thought i would roughly fit the rear bumper to see what it looks like.


i was suprised it fitted so well considering the width of the arches. the front section needs to be modified where it meets the wheel but shouldnt be a problem.
next job is to fit a new rear panel due to the dent. whilst its off the spare wheel tray will be removed so the boot floor is flat. it weighs quite abit and as i wont be carrying a spare wheel then why have it.
anyway thats it for now. i just wish the weekend was longer

thanks shaz. as for the bonnet my old one is going on. so will the grill. i do have an extension for the bonnet but dont know if im going to use it as i love my grill..shazE30 wrote:P.S I think you need to fabricate a bonnet like my avatar pic...would suit it down to a T
