All,

As promised see pics of my recent purchase taken for agree value insurance purposes. August 88 F. Manual box, manual roof. 80k with good history inc original bill of sale (@£25459), 4 owners from new. Its had a little paint but the bodywork is in great nick - just needs good valet and few bits like new centre cap badges, windscreen chrome trim and boot alignment tweaking as new strut has knocked it out a touch. Maybe a leather refurb over Winter too - if I can summon the courage!

Enjoy,

Matt

That's a beautiful looking, original, unmolested car,
Should look good after the re-furb details you mention,
Gone, but not forgotten !!

Well there you go. An F reg motorsport. Never thought they existed TBO but 2 come along at the same time.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/1989-BMW-M325I-CO ... 286.c0.m14

The badges in the seats obviously differ from the next lot with the tri stipe in the corner of the backrest. Also note chrome window surrounds.

Wonder if it would originally had nagaro wheel centres?

Does it have all the other motorsport goodies? I think I can see extended leather in there but LSD?

Cheers for the comments

As far as I know this is absolutely as it left the factory. Owned by a Doctor for about 16 years and then onto 2 of his mates one of whom owned it twice.

It has got the full leather console, tech 1 wheel, no OBC. Build sheet shows;

373: blue hood
288: 7j x 15 wheels
350: green tint glass
380: hardtop prep
812: GB spec
925: AG transit spec
122: Motorsport edition
301: anti-theft lock
708: M-technic wheel
850: additional petrol
940: special preparation (assume this is the paintwork?)

From the motorsport threads i've seen I reckon this is one of the first 50 built.

No idea about LSD - I am a complete numpty when it comes to mechanics, how would I tell?

Jack up the rear so both wheels are off the ground. Rotate one wheel and watch the other. It the other spins in the same direction, it's an LSD.

Cheers Pete,

Good to meet you and thanks for the loan of the trim fitting tool. New windscreen trim and wheel centre badges made a big difference.

Pete's had this in the air and no LSD fitted but at least it will be cheaper to get rid of the slight whine!!

Car now SORN'd but I will be back in the spring for a good service so the cab will benefit from your vast E30 knowledge :D Need to get saving for everything leather refurb, wheel refurb and new rubber also on the to do list.

Nice looking Motorsport and very unusall that it had chrome window trim, every other Msport cab i have seen has had full shadowline trim.

Every other early metal bumper M sport cab i have seen has has stitched tri colour stripes, not seat pins.

Note down the VIN number and then either take it down to your local dealer or phone them and they will tell you if it is or not.

Another way to tell is, there should be a label underneathe the rear bench, should have a build number, for example 100/250.

That car was owned by a chap in Birmingham, its been through 2-3 colour changes, last time i seen it it was a silvery-blue colour. The history of the car, to be honest, isn't good at all. Not a genuine motorsport.

You probably wasn't on the zone when a topic was opened in regards to this car when it was on the salvage site, we all knew someone was in for a shock :(

Search for "E30 max power show doughnuts" on you tube, you will see how the car was looked after.
