Has anyone got any pictures of an '89' 318i auto engine please? i just want to check what my engine is.Been told by you zoners that it should be an M40,but going by the trusty old haynes manual, nothing seems to match up.I think it's the original engine as i bought it from an old man who deffinatly wasn't a an E30 nut.And going by the cars history, theres no evidence of a new engine,(And yes,it's the correct book for my car!!) Or have you got any other diagams or websites to look at and find out?

Take a photo and post it up here and we'll soon tell you what it is.

I'd post a pic of mine, but it's in such a disgusting state of dirtiness that i'm too embarrassed to show other zoners :o:

No such thing! Haynes manuals are litter.
If you want a workshop manual for your E30, get a Bentley one. :D
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

That looks like it sihooker cheers, gonna check it out tomorrow. Now what i need is a breakdown of where everything is. As for the haynes manual stubeedoo,i remember the old mans legs hanging out from under his cortina every saturday, with the haynes manual covered in oil next to him.I can't break his heart and chuck mine away,he'll think he hasn't brought me up right!!
Whats with the bently manual thing,??
