cheers,

trying to distinguish which model it is, think its been played with in the past coz its got the M42 engine but lots of IS features missing...

telling myself i'm not gonna get too involved with this - jus wanna refurb the wheels, clear lenses and repeaters and red tint the rear clusters for now...

got enough money in my project :

318is's were produced between 90-91 i think there are a few very early 89 models but literally a handfull

yours doesnt have a spoiler, or dechromed bits, so i would think its not an IS, just a 318i with m42 fitted, have you got a pic of the bay???? sure its an m42  if it still has the original under bonnet sound insulation you can tell if its an IS from that :)

thats what i heard and mines got prod. date 06/89...

definitely the M42 fitted  twin cam, chain driven.

no under bonnet sound proofing an also rocking drums on the rear... that decides it!!

That Corrodo is lovely.

My mothers next door neighbour bought a 16V silver corrado back in 1992 on a K plate, hes owned it since new.

Unfortunately a knackered heater leaking into the cabin meant its demise and he promptly traded it in on the scrapage scheme for a Hyundai i30, car was mint on the outside as well

thanx man, yeah the heater matrix is a known fault and can be a bitch to get at but no reason to trade it in especially not for a hyundai

all about keepin the corrado alive :D and the E30's now!!

I saw that car advertised. It's a 318i with the M42 fitted along with a few other 318is parts.

I remember it as I liked the wheels.
