There is always something nice seeing lads from the Zone working together on a car,I wonder how different things would be if there was no internet, how many of us would never have met each other, how many of us wouldn't have tackled big jobs like this.
I for certain wouldn't have my Touring anymore,I wouldn't have met Scott who helped me put in the engine from Jonb who supplied said engine, just for example,I could go on of course.

X5 V8 for thrills, CRV for chills, Range Rover P38 V8 for sooooo much aggravation...
Couldn't agree more, since I have got involved in the Zone properly in the last few months I have had great advice and met some great people.Jesus325iTouring wrote:There is always something nice seeing lads from the Zone working together on a car,I wonder how different things would be if there was no internet, how many of us would never have met each other, how many of us wouldn't have tackled big jobs like this.

Absolutely spot on. Convertibles are all about cruising the lanes with the top down. The reason I went this route wasJhonno wrote:Cab = Auto...
Manual in a cab is a waste imo, it's about cruising about, enjoying the top down, not worrying about changing gear
A) I always thought the original M20B25 was lacking in torque
B) the engine came up and it was rude not to buy it!
I'm not after building the fastest converible, just the best allrounder.
Next project after this is to drop the rear end out of it, new front to rear lines and an LSD. Oh and to mint the car up even more

Looking good sir. Engine bay envy.
Top work guys/trevor!
It will be a great all-rounder for sure!
I saw a white facelift c2.7 convertible the other day. A lady was driving it and it was clearly her daily slugger (ie, not clean, inside full of crap, water leak etc) Real shame, it looked like it would scrub up really well and it had all the goodies.
A real shame, not how it should be treated
she wouldn't sell either and said she was going to give it to her son when he passed his test, lucky sod.
I'm guessing that it's quite a rare e30?

Any convertible C2 2.7 is a rare car Dave but a facelift one even more so!
Did it have alpina spoilers or a tech 2 kit?

Not the best day I've had. The f*cker won't turn over!!
Engine turns by hand
Battery fully charged
try to start it (or at least spin it over on the key to get the oil pressure up)
CLICK.
Terminals all tight on the starter motor
Terminals all tight on the battery
earth strap all tight.
The b4stards all back together except the air flow meter and air filter but I'm stumped.
Bl00dy taxed the sod this morning as well
