16" BBS Replicas from e bay?
Moderator: martauto
I currently have 17" Alpina replicas on my 325 and the car suffers from bad tram lining and the steering is often vague. It does need bushings and possibly fresh shocks but I have a feeling it will still tramline when they're done. I'm thinking of getting these wheels instead off e bay and I was wondering will it still tramline with these 16 x 7.5 BBS replicas off e bay? Can't get link working properly so just type: 16" BBS Style alloys for BMW E30 into e bay search. Thanks for any help
get the real thong much better
I bought a set of those last year.
Nice wheels but were just a bit too bling for me?
Also they had multifit centres(8 hole) which I wasnt expecting, although not the end of the world.
I went for Toyo t1r 205/45/16.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^Damn they look good
Just had a look at the Ronal RS there. Very nice and around the same money as the lensos. The Ronal is probably nicer looking but I had my heart set on 16's. Pitty they're not available in 16". Tough decision which wheel to go for...

Yep I bought mine off Tony (eko). They look great. Car drives fine with them on (although they're currently off the car for the winter).eko wrote:I never drove it with them on as I got Alpinas instead but I sold them to a guy on here called MattM,maybe PM him for an opinion?keet81 wrote:Cheers mate. Here's a pic of my home made centre badges using some self adhesive BMW badges from the local BMW motorcycle dealer of all places:

I found the cheapo ones on eBay looked terrible and weren't available in the required 50mm diameter. Cut some self adhesive fuel tank protector (also from motorcycle dealer) into four 50mm diameter discs, attach the badges using a blob of something like Sikaflex or bathroom sealant for a good secure fix and then put over the top of the existing Lenso badges. After 6 months and weekly pressure washes the badges were still holding up great!

I never weighed them but they were actually fairly light with the tyres fitted.
Qaulity seemed good but without taking the car out on the road hard to say really.
The 4 extra mounting holes was one of the things I wasnt keen on also although they were the ideal offset for an E30 they just didnt look wide enough.

I think for a daily driver or someone on a budget they're a great choice. I'd love a set of ultra-deep dish genuine BBS RS but funds and the sh!te roads near where I live made the ones I bought off you an ideal compromise.eko wrote:I never weighed them but they were actually fairly light with the tyres fitted.

p.s. they did look good on yours as well mate!
When I first put them on:

And yes Tony it's still sky high mate...

Hm, I am amazed how you can call these rims "great"...
They have cheap knock off written all over them a 100 miles away
The rim center have an akward look, the center bolt is with strange screws in the corners, the rim edge is a bit too small for a good look, there is only 25 screws in the outer edge and a general chinese look to the hole thing.
Get the real thing, I can't imagine the price difference to be very big... and even a set of genuine BBS RS in a poor condition would be better than these Lenso's, IMHO.... All though I must say the the black centered ones on Appletree's red E30 above could fool me in the passing
I have been working on my BBS RS070's for my E21, and it can be done at a resonable price

Ok, I can see the Lenso's are 16" and priced at £525. It would be impossible to find a set of 4x100 16"BBS for that kind of money...DanThe wrote:Rasb1 wrote:I can't imagine the price difference to be very big...
Your having a giraffe aren't you....
But 15" in an unrestored condition should be possible to find for that price.
But yes, are you looking for fast, easy and cheap bling bling that will fool most people that have no interrest in cars or accesories I guess the Lenso's is the way to go
