The prefacelift 4 spoke Momo wheel for the Alpina was the same wheel for the prefacelift Hartge. The horn pads were identical in shape, but had different respective logos. The upper right hand spoke had the respective tuner name engraved in it.
That's not actually true, you can clearly see the difference between the respective pads if you look at them side by side.
There clearly is a difference in horn pad shape.

The leather also covers the whole of the metal spokes unlike the alpina one.

I ment that the only difference is the shape of the horn pad with respective logo - I stand corrected. The 4 spoke prefacelft Hartge/Alpina
wheels do not usually have the leather covering the whole spoke - how would the Hartge/Alpina engraving on the spoke be visable if it were covered with leather? I have a feeling that your wheel may have been recovered - the 4 spoke wheels I have seen in the US are all this way (look at the picture at the top of this page) & the Hartge word in script appears on the lower left spoke, where Alpinas is on the upper right spoke.

This photo, taken from the Hartge 88/89 catalogue shows a steering wheel exactly the same as the one pictured in in this thread.
