After having to slam the anchors on to avoid some numpty a few months ago, leaving Burger king and coke stains in my passenger foot well  and then the heater matrix deciding to spill its internals all over the place too...

It was time to fit the carpet I sprayed a while ago, well about 2 years ago to be precise

After finishing the M50 conversion a few weekends ago, Eko had to bypass the heater as it was obviously fooked and would just keep leaking water.

Although I wasn't doing a lot of milage anyway he was still concerned and didn't want to chance it over heating...

So yesterday we set about fitting a new heater box and whilst we were there a crack free dash and as said before the carpet, aswell as getting the rest of the dealer fit air-con removed :D

Started at 9.30 -

The dash I picked up on Friday for the costly sum of £10 (I had to remove it my self)

Finished 6.30

I have a nice set of early high back Recaro's to go in, just need to get them recovered soon winkeye

Good bit of progress for a days work (the clock on the dash is wrong!) aswell as getting the air con out which wasn't that straight forward in the end as we couldn't get the pipes past the engine :x

Tony binned about half the wiring loom which was made up of old alarms and the air con crap

A Huge thanks to Tony for giving up yet more time to spend on my turd... What goes around...

I done it at work, I used normal 2 pack paint which I thinned down about 50 % and added around a futher 40% of binder which is quite rubbery, the end result it quite soft, the pictures dont do it much justice... :D

Tbh I tried a small section of old carpet with aerosol satin black, as much of a bodge as it sounds it came out fine - Provided you only give it a light coating

To be really anal you could mix up a weak solution of fabric softner in a spray bottle and give the carpet a libral coating which would reduce the rough texture, mine feels fine imo.
