Recently my son bought a 318is and his involvement with the zone made me think.....result purchased a 1992 325i Auto Convertible.
Car was manufactured in 1992 and exported directly from BMW Germany to an ex-pat living in Hong Kong. She is UK spec. with KM speedo.

Image

The car was in Hong Kong for eight years and covered 20K kilometres before being re-exported by her owner to the UK. To date she has had three owners and covered 60K kilometres (40K miles)

Image

She has come with full documentation and service history which includes a service book with BMW stamps in Chinese, the original Chinese log book and letters from BMW's homologation department verifying the cars age when re-imported. Plus alot of expensive service invoices from BMW.

Image

The body is completely rust free as you would expect from a hot climate and this level of care, but the paintwork needed agood wash, polish and wax to bring it back to a finish that matched the rest of the car. The interior had faded as you might expect with eight years of sun. I have removed the interior and restored it with a Gliptone reclour kit....excellent product.
She is fitted with an original Alpine radio/CD head unit wired to an Audisson amp situated behind the rear seat. There are additional speakers and tweeters as fitted by BMW giving a sound quality that is excellent even by todays standards.

Image

The car is now booked into Howard Motors (Preston) for a full inspection, timing belt change, full fluid replacement including diff. and auto box as well as a new manifold gasket as the heat shield has perished. (All in price £250....bargain!)

Image

Overall the car is a joy to drive especially with the hood down. She compliments my sons 318is beautifully and is nearly as comfortable to drive as my regular drive a BMW 330d M Sport !!

Nice looking car you have mate !

I take it you are from around the Preston area then???

Just a suggestion but you might consider replacing the water pump and tensioner when you get the belt done ?

That is one very nice, very late 325 convertible. What a find. You must be well chuffed.

I saw this one for sale on the www & was really tempted but two convertibles is one too many ! Enjoy it. But keep it mint and never take it out without checking the long term weather forecast :D

Hi SS Bob,

Lovely cab, i saw this for sale and if I hadn't bought one already i'd have snapped this one up. I have a similar car, black 1992 325i auto, only mine has a beige leather interior.

Best of luck with her and hopefully we might get this indian summer they're always banging on about.

lol. Well it's only recently come back on the road after around a 13 month hibernation. You usually hear it before you see it. It's a 318 in desperate need of a new cam shaft, winkeye

Thanks for all the positive comments, car has already had water pump replaced a couple of years ago, but take the point about the cam belt tensioner. Spent this weekend removing inner wheelarchs (plastic) and Waxoyling all the nooks and crannies....no rust to be seen ....unbeleivable. Have also done the sills and rear valence in stone chip paint with several top coats of clear lacquer to really finish her off.
