The sunroof looks great, really glad that it worked out in the end. Top work.

I'm really pleased the moonroof worked out so well for you, it looks ace. 8)

I know how gutted I'd have felt if somthing arrived from a distant land in substandard condition. Well done on your positive approach in putting it all right.

For those of you who haven't read my thread discussing my engine woes.......

The 2.3 project lump came to nought. The machine shop condemned the pistons.
It's now running a Templ8e30-built 2.7.
This is why I no longer drive an E30......

That tow bar's getting ditched for a detatchable one, thanks to Steve (e30topless) and I've got an MTechnic tailgate spoiler (thanks to OldSkool) going on when the car gets back from the bodyshop.

StuBeeDoo wrote:A set of 16" Hartge's could be tempting, if the price is right, but I'm not actively looking. Same goes for an MTech tailgate spoiler.
Next year, a few small bodywork issues will be addressed and when they are, it will gain an MTech2 front spoiler.
I got the tailgate spoiler earlier this year, and a week after getting the car back from a full respray, a set of Hartge wheels appeared on eBay.

This is the only photo' I have at the moment. The car was filthy from an 800 mile round trip to Hampshire and South Wales. Not the greatest of locations...... B&Q.

What a year it's been for my turd! 8O

First of all the 2.7 engine ran up the white flag, so I built another. No more big ports & valves, it's a standard 731 'head, 325i cam and 320i inlet manifold for max torque.

The petrol tank sprang a leak so I reluctantly had to buy a new one and get it fitted. That meant that it was daft not to replace all the petrol lines - rubber and metal. The front-rear brake pipe was done at the same time.

I've got an on-going nightmare with noisy diffs. In the course of chasing transmission noises, I changed both rear wheel bearings and the prop centre bearing needlessly.

The front discs and pads (Mintex discs and M1144 pads) were sh****d after 18 months/22k miles road use, and I had to replace the calipers as well.

On a happier note, the car now has an E36 steering rack. :D And today it passed the MOT with no advisories. :woohoo:

Hopefully now I can get on with the business of just enjoying driving it.
