I personally think 19s don't suit the E30.

And shiny, chrome, bling ones too? Are you sure about that mate? That bling craze will die a death and then you'll be wanting to get shot of them ASAP! Anyone who remembers when everyone was rolling around on 3-spokes will know what I'm talking about.

Still, horse for courses and all that.

Ah I had 3 spokes on my Mitsubishi colt.....they died a death and then TSW Stealth's were the rim to have.

Being older and wiser now, I appreciate rimming isn't everything it's cracked up to be. :P

I remember the Stealths. They don't seem too bad when I look back on them, but that whole 'soft look rim' is pretty much done and dusted. I think that the best option is to look at the wheels that have stood the test of time and are still popular.....Unless you have money to change them on a regular basis!

the e30 isnt fast and it isnt furious, so why bother with the gash fast and the spurious look

Jhonno, don't beat about the bush...say what you feel. :D

I'll have to side with the 2 Ronnies above.......chromed up, dub, spinner, square wheels are all no no's on an E30.
These cars are now consider classic/ retro cars and are best suited to wheels from the erafrom which God put his drafting HB pencil to the drawing board and sketched the first E30 from his Godly man hands.

Your looking at BBS, Borbet, (dare I say it) alpina's (I miss mine pina's).....or it your lookingfor something a little different the OZ turbo rims.

I don't think you understand. There are no E30's here with 19" chrome wheels. More's the shame. I think an E30 would look proper phat rollin' on some chrome bin lids.

Proper like.

well all i can say what ever you think you like go for it no one on here can tell you shit, they go on about fast to furious and classic, but hey they go and change the engines to try to make them quicker but what they are forgetting they are a old school cars, so in my books all council, you can put 17'18'19" what ever you think is best,

good point, why is it that, 90% of zoners hate, and dont appreciate. when some fellow zoner spends around £6-700 on their car on wheels or a kit, they all moan. but when they add a little chrome switch to theirs, its like christmas.

its your car, you make it look like what you want, asking for advice will just give you stupid ideas, and you might end up putting £100 bbs's. lol.

my point is the same as the previous, you do what you like.

and as i always say "haterz envy me"

I feel an E30 can be modified adequately, whether you slam it to the ground or put 18", 19" rims on it but then that may not be everyones cup of tea. Even the heavy modifiers can come forward when they see some council tat, and 'we' all know when an E30 has 'gone wrong' Sometime's I see some cars on the road, and think WTF? but then maybe that person hasn't got A clue or the eye for when it comes to modifying.

I bought my car before I joined the zone, and sometimes I felt I wouldn't have got the same car because of the knowledgable people on here who are here to give advice, but no point in dwelling as everything is coming together, even though it's leaving me broke as I purchased it as A naive 20 year old

Something I believe we all agree on is that it's an 80's car with A huge appeal even today, with people like Maxfield and Josh on the forum who are some of the youngest zoners who take a liking to A car which is almost 25 years old. I never knew there was such A culture to not the BMW scene, but the 'E30' scene. I never thought I'd be attending meet's, events etc, I thought I bought the thing and now im stuffed lol.

There probably are people on here with 19" chromes, but probably don't want to put pic's up. In my opinion, I wouldn't put chrome alloys on an E30 seen it done and it wasn't that nice to be honest. Chrome should only remain on preface lift cars (the bumpers)

i havent done something like that myself, so dont get any wrong ideas. mines is "ONLY" being m3 wide arched, with modified m3 bumpers, m3 sides, 17" deep dish alloys (not too deep only 3"inch polished lip, thats it) full respray in calypso red, brand new black leathers with 4 screens (yeh 4, gotta show the pedestrians and following cars what i'm watching, lol) and some nice sound, THATS IT..

hope to have it on road for back to uni in october. will get some pics up soon

Yup because a car is old it is council.. Must tell that to the next Series 1 Mustang owner I see, or 50'/60's Ferrari Aston, CSL etc..

well if its council for mods then its council for engine upgrades, if you appreciate e30's then you would leave it alone why alter the engine if you like them so much, o and buy the way the cars you have listed are rare classics try to find one then tell them its council, all you can do if slate other cars take a look at yours its not even a full car, post a few pics of that see what you get? LOL

Who said it was council to mod? Its council to mod in bad taste (chrome rims are a good example), there is a massive difference. They are indeed, well spotted, but they are old, which I thought made them council? My mistake.. What about a 2002? Sadly no one wants to look at my sad rusty turd of a 316i so its doing the internet world a favour by only showing the bootlid, plus I am actually saving up to buy the rest of it. If only I had good taste and money I could afford the all the bling I secretly covet :)
