....and finally some of the rot that eventually got her. This was the view from the inside of the car looking at the rear quarter (or what's left of it).

Alas Dave it wasn't a sport just a tech II kit. I've still got a black heading lining I bought off zaust 2 or 3 years ago sitting in the garage I was going to put in.

The MkI is currently laid up in a lock up after a small electrical fire. Driving along, smoke pured into the cabin, lost the brakes and ended up having to drive it into a lamp post at a round about to prevent a huge pile up. funny thing is it passed it's MOT (ligite) that morning. Needs new wings all round, front panel drivers side suspension and lots of new wire.

The wife and the new E30 are our main priority at the moment though.

A sad event indeed, it looked mint!

The other halfs G reg 318i was sent off to the scrapyard in the sky last night, terminal arch rot, very similar to yours. Also had scuttle rot too, which wasn't that bad but enough to make it a no-fixer anyway.

Picked up a E reg 318i in the deal so all is good, needs some TLC but no welding! Which is a first.

Only fun job is going to be the sunroof panel which is rotten through, replacement at the sprayers but I've not done one as yet, I'm sure it'll be fun!

Pulled my first e30 wing off last night in practive for fitting a new one to the turbo, hopefully the sunroof panel will be a quick as that was.

Good luck with yours!

Fozz.

That's the worst part. It was mint on the outside but like a polo a had a mahoosive hole in the middle.

Go for the moon roof option  (see ebay section)

So another E30 rises from the ashes as one goes forth and meets its creater. Nice work. I wish I was allowed the one out one in E30 policy. I've had to be nice to the mother-in-law for a whole year to earn the ok from the wife to get another one.

I must say the turbo looks tasty! Nice work Fozz!

Moon roof.....hmmmm that's an idea.....

One out, one in policy works in my house, this is e30 number 5 and e30 number 2 for the misses :D

We only have one garage between us, so it's always a race home to get in there first, I've got 22 miles to do to her 1, so poor red one's been getting wet these last few days, right after I cut a bonnet vent too, typical!

Thanks for your kind words, three years or so invested in the damn thing so far, got the hardware sorted now, boost control, clutch and Dyno next!

Hey snoops...... that was a standard electric OEM aerial from the main stealer. I double up nicely as a radio receiver.....a clothes line...and something for the local skateboarders to hold on to for a lift....poor buggers never saw the high kurbs approaching at 50mph.

I broke the car last year fella. Only parts like the aerial left which my uncles currently using for sea fishing off Brighton pier.

As for the plates, My wife's name when she doesn't want to be referred to as Atilla or Boss is Nat. Mine name is Daryll (E30 plate) but I've always been known as DJ due to my initials.

Dave, my fellow metrosexual/boardering confused puppy.
Thanks for your kid words and for you know what. When the missus finds out I'm sure she'll have a whole lot of loving winging it's way to you.

These things happen for a reason dude. Some day soon a cabby will be adorned by those beautiful plates you knocked up for me which are sitting in front of me at this very moment.

I'll have to pop up and see you soon mate....it's been too long.

Ah Fozz, that brings back mammories.

Despite the gallons of water my hole used to let in, it was handy keeping the amps cool in the boot. It was very fen shui with the air, water and occasional fire when the battery was up to it's terminals in rain water but it had to go.

Ours used to fill the pas rear footwell with a fair amount of water, the carpet went bad and smelled awful but we couldn't ever find a leak, seams the leak was below the carpet, i was looking above!

Along with being a stand in Littlewoods catalogue model.....ICE is a passion of mine. The company I used to work for gave me this lot plus a bit more as a leaving present. Best bit is they scrapped the rest of the stock before they even put it on the market for one reason or another so I'm the only person in the world to have any of it...and my god it's good quality. So some how I'll be squeezing this lot in the cab if/when it eventually arrives.

I'm not a boom boy though who likes listening to his Will Smith album at full volume driving down 'the strip' in Southend. Give me a Celine Dion cd and a toblerone and I'm happy cruising round at 25mph! winkeye
