been a while sinc i've been on. haven't done a lot to the car really, just using and abusing it. seem to have lost a gutter trim somewhere allong the way :o:

anyway, passed an mot a couple of weeks back with nothing more than a couple of easy fix advisorys which was nice.

anyway, after trying for ages to source the winter wheels i wanted, including buying 2 sets on impulse which i then decided i wasnt keen on, the ones i was after in the first place finally turned up from germany 8)

please excuse the pics, it was around 5pm when they were taken, and the car hasnt been washed for a couple of weeks. better ones will follow i promise :D

went for 8s al round, et20 on 215 40 17 tyres. wanted to be able to swap them aroundto even out wear, and they'll also be my track wheels so should make things a bit more lively. could do with spacing the rears out a bit as they are a little bit too tucked really, although some of that is probably just because i'm used to seeing 9s on 235s under the arches.

would find it hard to turn down a sensibly priced pair of 9s without covers though to keep all options open :D

Seriously different! 8) They'd look great on a 'normal' e30, but I've not made my mind up about an m3 yet!

I have these rims!! They are sweet, but you can't get a bigger brake set under them, unless you have the et 10 fronts off the 8 series. You might also need to file down the anti rattle clip a tad as it will catch on the spokes when you have new discs/pads.

I like them without the lids, and just spokes but they get a bit boring after a while. Its good that you can change them to either bin lids, throwing stars or just plan spokes. Gives you different choices!

really? when i tried them on to check they werent going to catch they seemed to have loads more brake clearance than the style 5s theyre temporarily replacing. i had to completely remove the rattle spring to run those wheels with new pads and disks.

Yes it is lhd, a german import so still has the correct kmh speedo and german writing on the clock and check panel. and no, i'm not selling it at the moment :D

i thought they would, you said they would, and as both of us are yet to make a poor wheel choice they were bound to look good

awesome wheels.i had totally forgotten about them until now. Interesting to note that these wheels look like that for a reason, they are designed to draw air onto the brakes when driving to cool them down.

discovered an extra 10mm springpad under the rear springs, and chucked it in the bin. the car now sits like an m3 on eibachs should.

cheered up by this, and thanks to the good weather i went on a bit of a cleaning ocd session, and eventually managed to rid the bodywork of all 3 million tar spots it had gathered over the past few months.

quick pic as it sits now, and part way through the cleaning process...

some things are so wrong they're right :D

centrelocks are the ultimate correctness but a tad out of my budget, and not really practical winter wheels

i am a closet wheel whore. currently in a shed i have some 16in m3 fit BBS RS in pices, a set of part refurbed shnitzer type 2 reps, a set of e39 clubsport split rims, the style 5s i need to refurb to put back on in the summer, plus a set of standard alloys for both my lancia and my metro  managed to sell some vauxhall calibra turbo alloys yesterday so that's cleared a little space

Sounds scarily like my basement..

Currently have 13 16" Hartge's, 11 15" x spokes, amongst other random wheels, including some vauxhall chavalier GSi wheels.
