Went to the Ring over the weekend in the 328i Sport. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Sunday was very wet - a real experience!
Car was very well behaved in the dry and carried lots of speed through the bends I somehow remembered but was quite tail happy in the wet.

Nice car Sal.. Tweaked?
My 'Loon is very tail happy in the wet, partly due to the wanklis on the rear tho

It is most certainly tweaked!
M50 inlet manifold, Simota Carbon Intake and remap - goes very very well for a 328i.
The avus edition suspension was superb.
Wish I had changed the front tyres before I went as they had little grip. Next time it's Toyo 888's and some ARB's.

Stick it on.
One of the M5 owners came out on a lap with me and was very impressed at the power from the little 2.8
Makes an evil noise with the Simota too.
Can't wait to get my M5 to the ring. The more experienced guys took E34 M5's and they were seriously quick round there even in the wet. That EDC suspension really shows it's true colours in these conditions. Superb.

@'little' 2.8!
M5 should be fairly rapid i reckon
I removed the restrictor from airbox so it snarls a bit more now but i suspect is silent compared to the Simota

Hey M5pilot (Sal is it?) do you use your e34 M5 on a daily basis? Thinking of getting one myself....preferably a Tourer....what are they like to run? Reliable?
Allways fancied one of those...nice and sublte...they seem to be pretty cheap these days as well.
Cheers, Chris.

The second pic in the wet is absolutely amazing. The red abainst the wet tarmac and the tyre tracks are awesome!!
I'd be very pleased, very pleased with that image!

I am well happy with that image aswell.
Chris - I used to use my M5 on a daily basis and it's very good like that if you don't mind racking up the miles on it. It's a heavy car so will eat bushes quickly and there those EDC dampers will take a punishment over UK town roads and they are very expensive to replace (unless you buy a 3.6).
Running costs aren't that bad and fuel economy is very very good.
Good ones are not cheap.
Tourings are extremely rare and very desirable.
Go for one of the late 6 speed cars with the 345mm brakes. Expect to pay over £7000 for decent one.

That kerb on wipperman on the top two pics should be used, not least because it's great fun!
I can't wait to go back again, and it's less than 2 weeks since I got back
