Thanks must go to Sheps for organising the Dyno runs on his brand new rollers,I was late arriving so only saw two cars running,Jons Audi which came up goooooood and an M3,not sure what it was putting out though.

Was great to meet up with fellow Zoners,

JonB(Renault21TurboHo),
Davenotouring(no car),
Simon13(325 Touring,being a bitch),
Demlot(er,an E30,not sure what but it had a Hartge badge on it)
Theo335i(Sleeper slag 335i),
Oz(the super duper2.7)
Jon_BMW(in an Audi, with lots of grunt)
Boybimmer3(in an 325i I think,hope its going OK now)
And Ron Parish (in what can only be described a as CONCOURS 325i Sport)
Oh and a chap in a lovely looking M3.

Had a cool afternoon fellas, glad I made it.
Looking forward to seeing a video of Theo :D ,having......fun.........backwards........

Hope you all got back ok,even if a certain French lady was only on three cylinders!

Cheers

Jesus

PS I didn't have a camera so no pics until someone else post some up.

Oh And non E30 related highlight for me was a shagged looking Datsun 240Z,possibly not with standard motor, hold off and embarrass a Fast & Furious look Jap 200(?) Nissan thing!

Here are some truely shocking pictures off my digital camera, I hope the video camera footage is slightly better later. We were a bit late so I missed getting demlots on camera although I did see it and it sounded nice.

Simons wagon with optional extra full interior which ended up in my car at the end of the day  :

Image

Oz's 2.7 which is pretty damn fast on the road

Image

Theos 335i with Atez wheels or something like that? Super rare option

And whats this hanging out of the garage unit:

Image

Jonb's annoyingly quick 21 turbo, seriously quick car when its running alright, equipped with this bad boy engine, innit bruv:

Image

Image

My old shed on the rolling road, poor old Paul had to get a tape measure out to measure the wheelbase. Look at that disgusting tailgate, what a turd:

This was a lovely thing, an evo 2 in maca(spel?) blue but I don't have a piccy of it on the rollers. And being a silly c**t I have forgotton the nice gentlemans name who owned it, its off the bavarian board.

Quality day out, and i'm a little sunburnt too :)

I'm not sure to be honest, my mind is blank. One of the other guys might know. Nice car, UK spec maca blue evo 2 and it made good power iirc. Its been in storage for a couple of years he said and this was its first major outing

Really nice Evo2, but has a slight running problem which I hope to sort for him next week!

Dude the eqipment there was spot on, a lick of paint and it will be a superb venue for all tuning enthusiasts(not that it isn't already). Can't get across what a nice place it was to take a car.

Thanks Jesus, it was a pleasure organising the day. The next one will be better for sure.

That Datsun has a very big Rover V8 making 300 or so BHP. He is usually accompanied by an MGBGT V8 with an even more powerfull Rover V8 than that with fibreglass panels everywhere and plastic windows too. Build to handle like you wouldn't believe. But unsure if that was there today?

Rog you were right, it was a v8. It was seriously quick aided by slicks too. It made a twin turbo skyline engined 200sx look a bit silly to be honest. Quality bit of kit there, a real sleeper.

Here is a vid, hashed together of all the footage. Points to look out for are at about 10 seconds and 4:13.

Arse and spin respectively.

I convinced myself it was running a V8,as Jon comments below say.
I sold my SD1 to a chap who was converting an MGB to V8,it's a small world, maybe the same one!

Yeah I thought that was funny, unedited in the new styleeee.

You missed the bit dave called you a WAN*ER, it didn't pick up on the mic. To be fair that corner was bumpy and the e30's billion turns lock to lock wouldn't have helped.

Dark sounds, I wondered if anyone would pick that up :D

:D

Fucking wicked day. First time on the track, much harder than it looks....

6 laps is nowhere near enough on there. Not that it made any difference to me, renualt got really hot on the fifth lap and ive since found out that it melted a plug.

Good result on oz"s motor with the 2.7 that ant built.

Thanks to paul for putting up with us lot.

I'm sure you were all giving some abuse, I think I heard Dave shout 'Twat' in that video.

I'll be back again with the car in much better order, it has about 300 problems which need sorting before the 'ring. I was getting clutch slip on track, the car popped out of gear a couple of times and the back end was really twitchy. Didn't help that I had big rear brakes with no weight over them with smaller front brakes with alot of weight over them, made for a very nervey drive - still great fun. I see there has been no mention of Oz's spin!!!!

I was so gutted not to have my Civic there. Would have been awesome! You guys all did well, shame about the car issues. Can't wait for the Ring now! You boys spinning just shows you were trying! Suprising amount of people squealing the tyres but not using the whole track! Shame they didn't have tuition on offer. :)

I have just been on a 150 mile round trip to collect my car, it did look sorry for itself in the video being towed back in. Next track day at combe is june 9th for me on the classic plus sportscars day, would be good for another meet up there.

Cheers folks - a good day. Pleased the 335 popped up briefly in the middle of that vid - I managed to swing a couple of sessions on track which was an unexpected bonus.

I'll be tightening up the back end before the Ring at May Bank Holiday, it was right up in the arch through the fast rights. I can do without that in Aremburg!

Enjoyed Castle Coombe, although I did get ticked off by the marshalls at the end for drifting, although I explained that that's how I always drive... winkeye. I'll be back for the Classic Day in June.

Lovin the video Jon, good job you wasn't filming further down the track where i had my spin, far too much beanz on the exit winkeye
Well pleased with the car, destroyed that M535i twice and before the spin was all over a sappire cossy, glad i left the interior and other gubbins in the car back end was light as it was.
Good to meat Rog, Jon and a few others :D
Massive thank you to Paul for arranging the day!
Jonb, good news on the spark plug dude.

Should have some photo from the other end of the track to post soon.

Yeah bruv.

It was plug number 2. The plug wasnt fucked, but the electrode was completely burnt away. I replaced with a plug from an e30 head. Took it out tonight and it runs fine. I expected the worst though..

Good to see your old barge is still running Jon.
What was it's figures out of interest?

Nice video too. Great to see your motors getting some track time Oz and Theo. So you're all going to the ring?
