That's a track?

Looks more like a section of (bad) motorway.

The camera chap didnt move so the only pics he took were of that straight. There were quite a few corners but the track we used was fairly simple. That straight was bloody long,we easily got into three figures before having to slow down :D

They weren't allowed out. All the organisers needed was a profile gasket or 3 to pop and the track covered in coolant ( usually straight tap water in most M42s ,but the marshalls wouldn't have known that! :) ) and the track would have to be closed.

Went in 06 to Gaydon. Before you set off their going on about how its a top secret Aston Martin test track and how many favours they've had to beg to get out on it. And how cameras arent allowed as you might see a prototype car. He even warned us that on the hairpin its a bit wet so theyve had to cone it into single lane.

Then you follow the Jag safety car and you wonder where exactly the test track is and why did I spend £10 for this bollocks! And its soo likely that Aston will forget about the BMW CC being there and leave all these exotic new cars just laying about! And as for the Hairpin, well its the biggest hairpin in the world!:x

I actually thought it was well worth a tenner,i drove as fast as i liked for three laps and didnt have to worry about plod zapping me with a speed gun!I loved every minute of it and have no complaints. It was a great way to find out what my car could do,i could never have driven like that on a public road safely.

I didn't mind the track. Was good to legally blat the car and then haul on the brakes for a bit of fun. Sure, it wasn't as good as a normal trackday, but then again, it wasn't made out to be.

10 quid or loss of licence... Hmm.. Let me think about that one.

I did take some track pics, I noticed a few e30 m3s were only just pulling away from the chugging White m sport 1 series 2.0l turbo diesel I was in, Just shows how good engine technology has come along.

I have a few pics and would have loved to get more, They will be up later on www.throughtheeye.co.uk << navigate to the events page and select the gallery, They will be up around 4pm today 12/08/08

Cheers!

Rich

Found the pic's for my session on the track. I thought the track session was good for £10 got to do 85mph aroung the hairpin and come round the outside of a E36 M3. Matt Jackson was out on the track the same time,he didn't seem to give it much stick though.
