I'll not have any extra pennies by Jan!? Still be skint from Xmas.
Either way, meets don't cost 'that' much, if we don't do a tour of the country that is!

I'll be up for one in Nov.

Crail, mmmm. Can be known to mess smaller clubs about somewhat, but you can hire the oval (skid-pan?) for the day and if there's ten or more it works out to be Ԛ£10-15 per head for the day. Can only take one car on at a time but you can throw 'em about all you want.
'89 325i - was an SE but not anymore, was bronze-beige metallic (yeuch!) but now techno-violet (thankfully)
'89 Toyota Corolla GTi-16 - track, hillclimb & sprint car (yeeha!)
'08 Buell XB12Ss - American engineering at it's 'best'... good fun though

It's not that kind of skid-pan (if it is at all), it's really just a small oval track with a figure of eight inside all marked out with tyres. I believe they use it for 'sprints' during magazine days and that they've doused it with water for 'spinning around'. When I was on it it was just left as is for 'thrashing about on' as Mickey said. It costs a fraction of the price of the track if people are feeling a bit rouked.

Anyway, the 'rubber' may help hold your iS together...

Never been to crail either but it's closer for me! winkeye

Id be up for a meet there but don't really want to take the touring out on salt covered roads.

A bit of sideways fun with no nasty kerbs sounds a good plan too.

Watched the video of everyone pulling out of that junction, Fuzzy that thing just sounds wrong! :D Only joking! It would be good to have a wee drag between the two 300bhp tourers winkeye

Iv been to crail several times, never been on the skid pan with the bm tho would be a good laf. This would be a good spot for a meet imo, we should have it on a thrash day n get all the E30s lined up n show up all thos stupid saxos n corsas with fat bodykits n stuff lol :D

i'm not trying to start a war but ....

winkeye i'd like to see ya have a go at this wee corsa
Image
it belongs to a good freind of mine and it's a bit special  he's a regular to crail and santa pod

E30's are quick but even with the BHP to match what Barrys got in his corsa, the weight will hold an E30 back

then there's the Nissan Micra
http://www.crailraceway.co.uk/record_de ... ecordID=63

you can't underestimate these wee motors that go to crail  but i'm sure it would still be a great place for a meet 8)

maybe i'd bring along my wee Mitsubishi Colt for a bit of a drag down the strip  1.6 16v with 40's, LSD box .. i'd think it would be good for a 14 sec run or less?

Thing is as above, those corsas are pretty extreme for a corsa. Put em up against an extreme e30 like the 1000bhp e30 or e34 and it would be goodbye corsa.lol

Id actually prefer to go on the quarter mile as iv never done it before. Would it be much more expensive than a new set of tires due to the skid pan?lol.

The boy in the E46 M3 was pulling away from me on the straights, as you would expect with ~180bhp more, but he was holding me up in the bends... what can I say, is it my 'good' driving (maybe not) or his cr*p driving (probably), but either way it was fun.

BTW, you're both cheeky sh*ts.

Yeah, sure you aint got a heavy brain

And i've had a hair cut so i'm lighter

and you'll spend most of sat helping me remove more weight from the iS

that explains the fact you dont accellerate very fast- no weight on the throttle!
