Well if you ever go back soon to the Ring, notice it here so I can witness what an S50 touring looks/sounds like. Too bad it's forbidden to swap engines in Belgium

Some great Photos, what's a trip like that cost in total,if you don't mind me asking?
Around 500 to 600 sheets if your driving, inc food, fuel, beer, board and laps (depending on how many you do) having a few passengers to share the cost of fuel gets the cost down mind.mineralblue wrote:Some great Photos, what's a trip like that cost in total,if you don't mind me asking?
You have to factor in car prep also if your driving, you need good tires, brakes, a full inspection 2 and none or minimal leeks on the car also.

I think for this trip my costs were well over £1500

try lowering it a tad more at the front and add large arbs....im pretty sure that will help
that touring is such a complete car, hoping to get mine to a similar state, but i cant take it off the road as i dont really want to use my silvia on the road.
still cracking up at Oz's commentary!
I have H&R anti roll bars which are set to stiffest front softest rear. I have been advised to soften the front to try and dial out the understeer. Its already -35mm and dont wont to go any loer really as its used daily, my area is festooned with speed bumps and pot holed roads. God i miss german roads!Karan wrote:yaybss325i wrote:Its not bad, but a bit understeery, need to tweek a few things to try and improve it. 4th lap ever? Not bad! I was about another 40 seconds behind you in a reasonably fettled iS.
Scumball is off to the Ring in July... Bit pricier than just a Ring trip , but it's for a 5-day session from Notts (Donny) to the Ring, Reims and back. Link in my sig...

Yes it was my fourth lap ever but i did have oz guiding me. I did 12.5 laps in total over 2 days and didn't time any. The video is 10.33 long but its recorded before the bridge and stopped after the gantry, the two timing marks for tourists aparently so i guess i could knock 20 secs of the 10.33.Omi wrote:4th lap ever? Bridge was 0:13, Gantry 10:17...
10:04 BtG is impressive, you weren't driving like a dick and there were track incidents and traffic.
I clocked a 10:50 with one yellow flag and an idiot in a Celica with no rear view mirror. - Can't wait to get back in July with the M52 in...
Had a few mates there same weekend and I know how busy it was. - Was dead on track in your vid. - Were you first there?!
Guidance was very good, no idea who it was but they seem to know the layout well. - Bit cautious with you for some turns, but safety is better than an armco bill!
Look up Dale from BTG or Ron Simons, who has the 75 Experience school... - Blag a pax lap if it's the last thing you do. - Ron has been driving the Ring in anger for 25 years and I learned more from his commentary and lines in one passenger lap than I had in my previous 10 laps!

Likewise, shame we didn't have more time to chat during the weekend.oguz327 wrote:UweM3 wrote:Working with the most cost effective budget (=annual ticket) and based on 3 trips this year (trailering the car) I am roughly spending £32 per lap total!! Shocking

I am going back 27th June - 30th June. Anybody else going that weekend (the inofficial german M3 meeting, but unorganiseed)? I am happy to take you out for a PX lap if the passenger seat is free.
