EDIT: widge is right-welcome to the zone dude   -hopefully we'll be able to solve your issues and answer any questions you may have....

the eta head isnt compatible iirc

this is because the eta head is a 'flathead' and the domed pistons of the 325 will hit the valves of the eta head

sorry dude you'll have to seek out a 325 head  :(

the head is not compatable - plus its shit - small ports/valves and puny cam

nice mod to reduce power never seen someone try n achieve that before

Easy on the lad guys it's only his first post.

AdamB I'm afraid the head you have got is wrong for your engine, and it's the bit of the eta most people throw away so you can't really flog it.
I'm afraid you're going to have to shell out and either get your old head refurbed or get another one off some one. I hope you didn't pay silly money for the Eta head. The reason the crank wont turn is that the piston of one (or 2) of the cylinders is jammed against the bottom of the head just before it gets to TDC, and don't put a thicker gasket on it ( even thought BMW do a +3mm one) as it'll run like a bag of nails. The combustion chambers will be all the wrong shape, and the compression will be so low you'loose loads of power not to mention the Eta cam is hmmm..... "very lazy" shall we say.

Good luck getting it sorted :D

Hi Adam, welcome. Just wondering why you are replacing the head on the 325. Do you have the rest of the eta engine? If so so you have the beginnings of a highly desirable 2.7 conversion. There's quite a few zOners doing it or already have them and so there's also plenty of info in the Forum threads about what needs to be done.

yes the eta head is NOT going to work with the I pistons, get that thing off asap before you do some serious damage. the combustion chambers/pistons are not compatible...

The eta head has a cam designed not to rev over 4800rpm, it really is no good for a 325i for all the reasons above.

If it's a super eta head someone might want it if it's cheap.
