hi all. Can any cab owners tell me what their rear view mirror is held on to the screen with? Mine was not attached when I got it. I've tried mirror bond, etc, but the mirror seems far too heavy and won't stick. Is there another base that attaches to the windscreen and the mirror to that, or am I just being dumb?? I ordered a new base from BMW, but it's the same round one that I've already got! Need to get rid of my current suction mirror....

Here's mine so you can see how it fits... not sure about adhesive though - I didn't stick it on!

Go to a place that repairs/installs windscreens and ask them to sell you an adhesive pad for an E30 thats what I did think it cost me a whopping quid

I went to ermmmm I think Autowindscreens in Hove on the seafront; I said can you stick this back on for me please?

they took off the circle bit, bonded it onto the windscreen with special glue, gave me the mirror and 'handle' bit and said wait for 24 hours and then just twist it back together - it has a like triangle with three bits of metal attachment thingy....

and how much did they charge?

de nada, non, niet, zero, gratis. Top bloke - sometimes big companies are... well... big I guess.

ps The sticky pads don't work IMHO.
