Well after some hunting I found a clean e30 on the zone and bought it...

and I really like it but I am not sure how much it has been lowered by and the previous owner did not know either.

It came with some Eibach springs (2003-140) and new shocks from BMW (33.52.1.135.888 and 31.32.1.130.065) which apparently would higher the car a little but it should still be lower than standard.

Problem occured today when my mate (working on car while I was at work!) tried to change the springs / shocks and the front shocks seem to be far too short for the new springs which are about 1.5 turns longer than the ones that are coming off. The new dampers appear to be identical to the ones that were taken off and they are Bilstein.

This is where I got confused as the BMW garage have supplies Bilstein front and Boge Gas rears but the fronts have "upto 09/88" on the etk disk and my car is 1990 G, would this make a difference as I can not see any others listed??

Also it would appear that the spring kit (2003-140) is also 11.82 to 10.88 which is also wrong. My car is now on axle stands looking sorry for itself

Should I buy the eibach springs (2019-140 = 11.88 to 12.90) I have seen them on internet for Ԛ£141.43 there are also springs by H&R (H-29664 82-90 6cyl RWD) at Ԛ£101.52

I am not sure what to do now especially with this miss match of dampers aswell, I don't want to fork out for springs if the dampers are still wrong!!

What would you recommend? Would it be better to bin this lot and get a complete set off the shelf as some sort of kit? I want the car a little lower but don't want to feel that I am riding a roller skate.

Any advise would be appreciated and sorry for the long post / loads of questions.

Matt.

Has anyone got this kit and what do they think of it?

What was the standard drop / height of a 325i sport?

Thanks....

After reading posts all morning I think I am going to go for :

http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/detPro ... PID=332824
http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/detPro ... PID=333072
http://www.motorsportworld.co.uk/detPro ... PID=256631

it should be about Ԛ£450 but if it works and rides ok I will be happy

I got the codes for the dampers from another post and they are listed as E30 M3 86-92 - Will they fit a 325i sport OK?

Excellent choice mate, the dampers will fit fine, I've just fitted exactly the same set up to my M3, and I am very happy with the car, very firm, but not hard to live with at all.

Thanks for the info Simon,

I was starting to go mad  looking at all the different part numbers and options but now I know that someone else uses this setup I feel better.

I will let you know how it goes and will post a picture of before and after.

Thanks, Matt.
