My tank was leaking from the stub pipe that the filler attaches to,it came orft in me 'and when I gave it a little pull. So check carefully to see where your leak is.New tanks from GSF are good quality and a good fit as well. The amount of hassle you go through to get the tank off,I would replace if that is what is leaking.

are any of the kits anything more than temporary repairs? i tried using various halfords type stuff to repair the filler pipe as it goes into the tank but would only get a couple of months out of it before it would start leaking again. gave up and just bought a replacement tank as i was removing the subframe to do the rear axle bushes anyway.

I have heard good reports of the Frost repair kit,but the hassle of removing the tank to repair is such that it hardly seems worth the extra effort for the cash saved!! I would check the filler pipe carefully before commiting to a tank change, though.

JB weld has worked for me in the past

Left it in a heated garage overnight to cure

As a temp repair it did rather well

Lasted about 15 months before i had to have the tank out again

Sames issues for me, I tried this putty stuff while the tank was still on the car and managed to increase the amount it takes to make it leak from £5 to £15...

Its doing the job for now until I can be bothered to change it.
