i have noticed that my auto 323i on kickdown is changing at a round 45-4600 rpm i am sure that it was 5k a few months back and definately before the reconditioned ecu. the rev limiter also cuts in at around 6000rpm. before the reconditioned ecu i never found one. I found that by putting it in 1 and then accelerating.

is something expiring on the ecu?

ever since i got the new ecu the engine has run quite poorly, lumpy idle.

possibly the ecu is getting faulty signals, or you're 'missing' a kickdown...

my dads old 525 had a 2 stage kickdown

1-got it to shift up at about 4.5k

2-let it scream up to 6.2k

might be worth checking that you have the correct ecu for your 'box...

is it a switchable auto?!
