Power steering fluid - ATF?

Guys,

There is a sticker on the power steering reservoir that states that ATF should be used.

ATF is automatic transmission fluid!

Is this correct?

ATF is a thin oil. I also use it in the gearbox of the 2.7,because 'er indoors moaned about the short shift.
