318iS fuel vent system question - where is carbon canister?

The carbon canister that is supposed to be part of the fuel vent system on the 318iS I recently bought seems to be missing. There is a pipe running from the back of the car which has just a rubber hose on the end of it under the brake servo. Is the carbon canister missing from here?

Is there any dangers, such as fuel vapour gathering in the engine bay during idling?

The closer I check this car the more items I'm finding, and it's starting to tick me off a bit as the bill to put everything right is mounting

It might be the 318is that gets sold rather than my trusty little 316i.

Doubt that it ever had one, unless it's a very late model.
The open ended hose you've found should push inside the reinforcing for the suspension turret. That's how it is on 99.9% of UK e30s.

As far as I can see, the car does have a cat, and the ETK shows a carbon canister as part of the fuel vent system for a cat equipped 318iS. I know that only some 318iS were equipped with a cat, but I can't find the appropriate diagram on the ETK for a system without one. I checked the fuel vent system diagrams for my non-cat 316i and as you say, the pipe just ends.

When you just find a pipe like that it always looks like something is missing.
