I'm a little confused about the e30 325iS model!!! Is it a special South Africa model-only or a late UK version of the 325i.
The reason i'm wondering is that searching the Net i found different opinions.

1) The first suggests that the e30 325iS was a South African model only, and had the Alpina (C2) 2.7 engine and was built 'cause the SA market wouldn't be able to have the famous M3's. Found this in http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y291/b ... adtest.jpg

2) The second opinion suggests that the 325iS was a late UK version ('was released towards the end of the model's lifespan ...with it's sharper handling, body kit and extra equipment' from www.drive.com.au/Editorial/PrintArticle.aspx?id=11104) of the normal 325i with the difference that i had the M-tech bodykit etc. Also the same in www.bmwheritage.com/the-bmw-e30/ : 'The 1989/90 325iS sport model, was equipped with a factory body kit, M-Tech suspension, standard ABS, Limited Slip Differential, sporty interior abd new bumpers'). Also the same @ www.unixnerd.demon.co.uk/e30.html

Well, can anybody point me to the right direction? All the infos i can get about the 325iS would be very helpful (engine specs, exterior, interior, pics, links on the web, etc)
Cheers !!!

There is no uk 325is, the 325i Sport is often misspelled (or the owner simply lazy or doesn't know) and write 325is.

There is an american and australian 325is which again is similar to our sport model, and then there is the 325is specail SA model.

The answer is the 325is badge can refer to different specs of the e30 depending on where the vehicle was sold.

So which countries 325is are you enquiring about?

So, probably it was my mistake!
I'm enquiring about the European version of this certain model, do you know when it was built, specs, etc. Any infos would be great mate (differences to a normal 325i).

There isn't a euro version of the 325is!

In Europe there is only the '318is', the '320is', "325i", '325i se' (which is only a 2.5 injection se model) and the 325i Sport. Once again no Euro 325is it is simply the lazy way of indicating a 325i Sport, which is why your searches threw up the other models. Search for "325i Sport Tech 2" or "325i Sport Tech 1", or goto wikipedia and look up the engine specs for the 2.5L M20 as fitted to the 325i, 325i se, and 325i sport. There was no difference in engine between all those models

The 325i Sport, came with about 171bhp, had the 2.5L M20 engine, 5 speed close ratio gearbox and LSD as standard, with a body kit, black headlining, Mtech suspension (15mm below stock), Mtech steering wheel and gear knob and sports seats. Although with everything BMW there are many many options you could add or delete depending on the depth of your pockets.

There were two versions of sport; a pre facelift Tech1 kit and Post facelift Tech2 kit, the engine also differed over the revisions too, apparently producing the same power but the early engine was a higher compression and a few other niggly differences to the management and sensors and stuff.

No someones gonna come along and correct my info, but to put it simply thats that.
