Sure that's where the oil's coming from? Most 'rear crank oil seal leaks' on M20s turn out to be the sump gasket.
i used it as time to give it all a spring clean take it all out lick of paint new clutch/thrust and cam belt ...when the flywheel is off its only a plate to take off push the old seal out and new one in .....depends if you need your car straight away
Hi When you look up behind the flywheel you see oil,but will have another look.Brianmoooore wrote:Sure that's where the oil's coming from? Most 'rear crank oil seal leaks' on M20s turn out to be the sump gasket.

I had same prob
it cost me ALLOT, do not take it to a workshop that can't repair a gear box, i had to change most of the clutches, oilpump, converter etc.
I had to change workshop aswell they couldn't fix anything, they told me there was a crack in the converter, bullsh*t but anyway maybe it's just the oil seal.
The oil just went right from the oil pan and down on the ground. if yours is dripping maybe it's only the oil seal thingie.
