1) Oil filter. Is that it located in that funny cask situated at the front of the engine, just next to the alternator?

2) I have a random plug hanging down. It's a multi pin plug that looks like part of the engine loom. It has a 3 or 4 ish pin plug. The wire is quite short and goes to the main wire that goes from the air flow meter to the main loom. So the wire is sort of hanging down underneath the main air duct from the air flow meter.

3) Where is the ECU located?

4) Any idea on what the bore, stroke, cam duration and valve sizes are?

1. Yup, it's the aluminium, silver-ish round casket thing, with a bolt right in the middle of the cap.

2. Ignore that plug - that's normally found like an orphan on the 4-pot engines. Don't worry about it. Can't remember what was the reason for it to be there in the first place.

3. ECU will be under the steering, you'll have to remove the trim panel underneath the dash (driver's side) to be able to see it.

4. Bore x Stroke (mm) - 84x81. Don't know the Cam and valve bits - Demlotcrew should know those.

Yup, Brendan's site has pretty good info about the 318iS, so good reference point.
