rebuilding e34 diff into e30 case

can it be done?

ive got an e34 525i rear diff which is the perfect ratio for my m50 conversion, apparently the e34 diff wont fit the e30 but can the inards be transfered between the two?

just talking open diffs at the minute but would be nice to convert it to a slipper at the same time.

I was told it could be done, i've got a 525 sport LSD 2.9/1 here if anyone wants to try it. Didin't need it in the end for my conversion as ANT used a sport box instead
