Hello all,

I have a couple of questions with regards to interchangeability of parts between various E30 derivatives.

The first one is with regards to the radiator: do all E30s have the same radiator? So for example would a radiator from a 316i or a 325i fit into my 318is?

The second question concerns the cylinder block: is there any difference between the M42 cylinder block that is in left hand drive cars, as compared to an M42 in a right hand drive car? I have checked on the ETK, and they seemed to have the same part number, but you never know, maybe something is different. And as of that matter, are any engine parts different on the M42 for lhd and rhd cars?

Thanks for any info on these.

Radiator is different between 4 and 6 cylinder cars. I do not knoe if an M42 uses the same rad as the other 4's. The only engine issue between LH/RHD I would expect is the exhaust manifold.

Thank you for the help.

Another slightly different question then: would a radiator from an E36 318is fit into the E30? Or is there something different (mounting / pipe locations)?
cheers,

AKAIK they are the same. Same P No as e36 325 as well......
