Not sure if my experience is similar to yours, but on my new E30 purchase I have found rust on the inside of where the A-pillar meets the panel under the front windscreen. The rust occurs on the inside on both sides. It looks like it was repaired with some body filler and re-sprayed, so the rust must have come through from the inside.

It can be seen when you remove the 2 plastic grills on the panel under the windscreen, with the aid of a small mirror.

*scratches head*

Is that a reply to the thread started by Sharky? Or something completely different? Bloody confusing seeing a thread start with an answer 8O

Yeah! it is a reply to my original Post, I cut and pasted it from another Post on rust.

How I managed to created another Post called HOLES when I was adding to the original, I have not got a clue.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this rust problem. Haven't got the chance to get any quotes from bodyshops yet. Recon they will need to weld in some new material where the holes are and the underside will need to be properly treated against further rust.
