Where should the original stereo wiring be wired to, I've been investigating the touring stereo wiring, and I've lost the switched live, when I was fitting the cruise I've pulled the wire and lost it in the dash somewhere. The perm live is wired direct from the battery with an in-line fuse. I'd like to wire it in as it should be, so how do I go about it?

Nope no loom, someone has pulled it out, someone has connected a perm live from the battery, the earth is connected above the glovebox, and I can't find the switched live...although it worked before I installed the cruise!fowler wrote:Is there any kind of loom for the stereo because if i can remeber there should be

Simon, I think there is something in the articles section at the top of the screen that tells you the colour of the wires etc. It is under the ICE section.
I had to self teach myself this a few weeks back having purchased the car from a mate, minus the head unit and he had conveniently cut most of the wires. AT worst, you will blow the odd fuse, for an ignition live, the cigarette lighter makes a reasonable source as this only works with the ignition on, I think!

right what you need is a switched live which you can take from the ignition barrel .
What yo need to doo next have yo got the Fuse box list
then find out which fuse is for the stereo
the place a wire from the fuse box to the headunit hole.
Have you got all the speaker cables there?
Have you got an Aeriel cable there ?
earth you can also take from the ignition barrel
