hi can anyone tell me what is involved in changing the fuel pump, ive got a 89 325i tourer many thanks

easy job. located under the rear seat bench. couple of bolts, couple of jubilee clips, job done

after taking the black top casing off, you'll see the top of the fuel pump. note there is 2 gaps in the flanging bits. tap them anti clockwise with a hammer and screwdriver or chisel bit to unscrew. the rest is obvious by looking.
straight forward enough job for most basic home mechanics.

Remove the 4 nuts holding the fuel sender unit in first and remove it. If you don't remove that on its own you won't get the fuel pump out.

Slightly more involved on a touring. The seat bases, the carpet under the bases and the hinge bar for the seat bases has to be removed first.
