OK, so a plan is emerging now. Central to this plan is to replace all the suspension bushes, ball joints, strut brearings etc, and fit a decent suspension kit at the same time.

I'm wanting a matched set of springs and dampers, ideally with a 25-40mm drop at the same time.

I've heard good things about Bilstein. Do Koni do any kits?
What supplier is reccomended.

Thanks.

H&R cup kit is the best available for decent Ԛ£Ã”šÃ‚£ - Ԛ£350 from the group buy section

Koni's arent so good for BM's apparently - Billy's all the way

Who are H&R? I'll look in the group buy.
TBH this is one area where I'm happy to spend the money because it's central to making the car into a predictable handler. At the moment I don't trust it.

Bilstien are very good. Get a pair of 325i legs (bigger diameter) and fit E30 M3 shocks. (Fit stright in, no mods)

IMHO Boge springs are crap. I am on my 4th set so far. They are ok for a month or so then sag (I carry next to nothing in the boot and very rarely carry peeps in the back). After they sag, the handling is not 100% and not confidence inspiring as it should be.

I have heard good things about eibach (sp?) and H & R springs, so will fit these next if I stay with this setup.

Power flex bushes have to be the best mod pound for pound at about 40 pounds a set the rear wishbone bushes are great and improve the drive considerably.

Smaller things down the line to think about may include:
Strut braces
Powerflex rear subframe bushes
M coupe Diff Mount
E46(?) cab rear shock mounts

and lots more of course :D

Get it right and you will shame cars costing serious cash, and that is worth every penny
