I have new 205/16/45's on the front and am about to buy new tyres for the back. Should I stick with 205's or go with 215's for a fatter look at the rear and possibly more grip.

To maintain correct rolling radius you should have 205-50-16, but that is too late. I've heard of people putting 225 width tyres on 7 inch rims so 215 should be fine, might help you get a bit more power down.

Thanks for the reply's guys, you're right Si I should get the 215's to stop the wheel spin a bit when taking off in a hurry. lol. The tyre size is different for the 318's to the 325's. The standard factory size is 195/60/14, so the 205/45/16 is actually the correct rolling radius. I think I might go the 215's. I did think about 225's, but I think they will be a bit of a stretch on the 16x7's. When I get a digital camera I will post a pic of my car. How do you post signatures and pics on the new zone? What has happened to all those cool emoticons also?

Interesting my Alpina's are 16x7 with 205-50-16 and the rears 16x8 with 225-45-16, maybe i should try 45 profile when my current one wear out.

run the 205's it will offer less resistance to spinning ie accelerating as it will have a reduced unsprung mass. also the car will be lower and therfore handle better as the centre of gravity is reduced.
as regards wheel spin try altering your tyre pressure. for instance instead of say 30psi run 28 and see how you get on. don't go too low or you will get side wall squirm and you will lose it

Decided to go the whole hog, putting 225/45/16 tyres on. Rolling radius is within 3% difference. Ordered them and they go on next week.
