I own a bmw e30 320i conv, i recently had my car breakdown and when the AA technician checked it he diagnosed it with the problem with the crankshaft sensor as he sprayed it with brake cleaner the car started straight away because the crankshaft became loose because of the heat and the spray so cold made it go back to normal.
Well i went to GSF parts and bought a sensor, it was fine for about a day, then the following days it cuts out more, struggles to stay on as i have to keep my foot on the accelerator in order for it to keep running the engine, and especially when im driving the car just cuts out and then i have to restart it while the car is still in motion its madness, and sometimes it will act as if its about to cut off but it dont and then jerks violently back n forth n den i have to press the accelerator really hard to keep it from cutting out...Just how it was before with the old sensor?!?!
Could it by any chance be a tuning chip that keeps making the BMW cut out? because i have a new chip put in the car before i bought it, to increase bhp by 12bhp but im sure that cant make the difference..
First question if any one knows:
1)What is the problem?
2)Is it still to do with the crankshaft sensor?
3)What part do i need ?
Problem with car cutting out while im driving NEED HELP!!!!

1) No idea, its your car. When did you last service it ?
2) Probably not, unless you've damaged the wire.
3) At a guess an air filter and the old chip put back in.

There is NO nucleus.

On the few times I've watched AA/RAC, etc. in action, I've been less than impressed!
Could be many things wrong with your car, but the white DME relay (under a plastic cover, near the air filter) is a prime suspect.
Check the big rubber hose between the air filter and throttle body for splits and cracks while you're at it as well.

The spraying of the sensor could be completely random.
It actually sounds to me like the fuel pump - does it make a noise? (under the rear seat)
I would however start with cheaper checks such as looking for Vacuum leaks, arcing in the ignition wires (do this in the dark), spark plug condition, fuel / air filters.
Give AFM / Throttle body a good clean with carb cleaner.
