did 2 miles and cooling system went bang , blew the lid off the header tank , have refilled and put a new cap on , no evidence of leaks and the system is pressurising still .dont reckon its the h.g. as it has never over heated till now

Its all done now ,cheers Adam , it was just a duff thermo so it looks like i will be doin the Taunton run ! , YIPPEE , I'm a meet virgin in case you had not guessed
