Just about to change the timing chain and tensioner and sprockets and am wondering if anyone has altered the cam timings seeing that the sprockets have slotted holes in them.
Will it make a noticable differance at the expense of less (or more ) torque in part of the rev range?
Car is standard except for a viper2 chip 127bhp at the wheels
cheers

I have heard that if you advance the inlet cam by 5deg it can help at top end. But am about to do the same soon, but i think i might get away with not touching the cams to get the chain off. There is a little deflection wheel at the bottom which i think when taken off will produce enough slack in the chain to get it over the two cam sprockets. Also if you are going to change the guides remember that the tensioner has a hole at the end which needs to line up with the hole in the guide so the chain gets lubrication.
