When you open the boot there is a black plastic cover type fitting, it is over the boot latch mecanism and runs the length of the rear.
At the moment i am trying to sort out boot leak and there is rust over the rear passenger side light cluster.
This black plastic trim is hampering me from sorting rust effectively.

Is there a way of removing this without breaking it or the 4 fixing's that hold it?
Will I need to buy new BMW fixings to re-fit it?
Thanks

The fixings which hold hold it in have solid plastic cylinders in them which keep them in. Push them out from above with, for example, a small allen key. Try not to lose them though :)

You can then re-insert them when you re-fit.
