you will also need the relay and fuses...when you fitted the fogs did you not see any wiring hidden or hanging around above where they are fitted.when i fitted mine the wires were behind the headlight covers (under the lights) and need to be lowered to just behind the fog lights and plugged in. take out the old single switch and fit the new then the relay in the fuse/relay box ...then the fuses and with luck should switch on with the side/headlights on....i have said all this thinking you have the wires fitted....hope you have ....or you are going to have to source the plugs and make up the wiring....good luck ...if you have the wires then should take you 15 minutes

The wiring is definitely there on post-facelift E30s (not sure about pre-facelifts, as never bothered to look on one of them).

The wire will be there on each side, ending in a plug (I think it's a yellow colour connector), wrapped up and kept behind each headlight, so you remove the black plastic cover in the engine bay, behind the headlight, and look below the light, you should see it there.

Simply push it down, through the little gap between the front panel area, and you will see it comes down perfectly behind the fog light mounting.

All you then need is the relays and fuses, which Brian has mentioned in the post above.

Very easy retro-fit job.

You will also need a bulb for the dash, which will illuminate when the front fogs are on, similar to the rear fogs. I remember there was an article in one issue of Total BMW magazine on fitting front fogs to an E30 and included a list of what was needed and relevant part numbers. It might be available in their Tech Articles section on their website.

You should also seal around the connection at the back of the fog lights, to stop water ingress. It had rained between when I fitted the lights themselves and the switch and relay on my car and it kept blowing the fuses. Turned out water had gotten into the connectors.
