Z3M Coupe rack

Would a Z3M steering rack fit an e30?

Seems that the Z3 and e36 are interchangable, therefore as you can fit an e36 rack in an e30, it would stand to reason that the Z3 also fits the e30 using the same method.
Sods Law steps in here and tells me my logic is sound, but it won't work:)
M3Compact seems to be the man to answer this properly.
Quick check on the ETK shows that there are 2 types, <09/1997 >09/1997, but they do have the same part numbers for both the Z3M and an e36 325i. So looks positive.

actually should have added a question to that.. would it fit an how many turns lock to lock is it.. (aimed at M3Compact)
