Hi Sam,
Where in Bournemouth are you? I'm in Poole so not too far away.
Best thing to do is buy an "Easybleed" kit made by Gunsons from Halfords. It allows you to bleed the brakes on your own without the aid for another person.
All you do is fill up the easybleed with new brake fluid and then screw it to the top of the brake resevoir in the engine bay. There is another tube coming from it that you attach to a tyre which will pressurise the system. Then all you do is undo the bleed nipple on each brake caliper in turn and allow the old fluid to bleed through.
Start with the rear driver side, then rear passenger side, then front driver side and finally front passenger side. You're starting with the furthest from the master cylinder.
If you can't get an easy bleed then you'll need to get someone to pump the brake pedal and hold it down then you crack off the bleed nipple and do it up again, then the other person pumps again and holds it down and you crack off the nipple again, repeat until its bled through (can take a while)!

Easybleed is great.

the only problem you might have is breaking off the rusty old bleed screws ... NIGHTMARE
